The people at the hotel reception were really helpfull and gave us a excellent service. Someone at the airport took our luggage by accident, I left all the info of that hotel to the luggage services they had to call me at the hotel. By the time we got from the airport to the hotel my luggage was safely stowed.... More

We booked this hotel for valentines weekend and after reading mixed reviews on this hotel, we were quite hesitant after reading lots of horrible reviews saying 'do not stay here- will ruin your trip!'. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were already pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in perfect location, in the 9th arrondissement centrally located next to... More

We booked through Eurostar package. I wish we did not. It was our first time in Paris and we did not check the hotel properly on the internet. At first our room seemed OK. It was a newly refurbished room with clean tiles. The guy at the reception claimed that it was a king room but it was standard double... More

We booked through Eurostar package weekend away.Arrived at 10.00pm Hotel in run down area. We collected the room key and rode in a very small lift to the 6th floor...got out to find no lights on landing. Obviously there had been some work going on as smoke detector was covered in cardboard..used light from mobile to find room. On opening... More

The staff was great but unfortunately the hotel is falling apart at the seams. It was cleaned to a basic standard but the walls are full of stains the mattress as well and the shower full of mildew. For 105 euro it was way over priced. Location is central.

This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed at. Any positive reviews must have been written by staff. There is no air conditioning, and they don't have fans in the rooms, so enjoy sweating all night in the hot Paris summers. When I woke up from my first night soaked in sweat, I went to cool off... I had the misfortune of staying here for 2 nights during the Paris Marathon. The rooms were covered in mould, smelt of damp, stains on the carpet and the bedding was dirty and very grubby. My husband had to put one of the curtains up as it was half hanging on the ground and when they were closed we noticed... More

Staying here was an extremely unpleasant experience. Not only was my room covered in mould, but the loo had no loo seat, the curtains had holes in them, the shower dribbled out water and to top it all off I got bed bugs! I woke up after my second night staying in the hotel, covered in bed bugs bites. I... More

There were Rentokil vermin traps under the bed and in the corridor. The shower room was so small it was not possible to stand at the wash basin with the door shut. There was mould on the ceiling. The bed had a plastic sheet under the top sheet which made the bed hot and uncomfortable. There are no carpets on... More

I won't bore you with why I have titled this review...briefly, there is no sign so none of the residents knew where it was, not helpful for taxis. The rooms were disgusting, dirty, smelly and tiny! And to top it all, the receptionist is the most unpleasant person I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. This is my first... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
