We were not disappointed in our stay at the St Martin Bastille. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room, though small, was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was modern and well appointed. There are great sidewalk cafes close by for breakfast or late night stops. The metro stop is close by giving you access to all the city.... More

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Thank you to Xavier and the other friendly and professional staff. Wifi worked without a hitch. Bonus if you're there on a Friday as there's a farmer's market just across the road.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days and found that the hotel is very convenient located close to the subway. It is also within walking to distance to Notre Dame. The rooms are tiny but clean. Free wifi was offered but it broke down one day. The reception personnel was very helpful except one gentleman who was really rude.... More

Note this hotel is close to the Oberkampf stop on the Metro- we mistakenly got off at Richard Lenoir- which is a bit of a trek although through a nice enough park. Also- the name has changed yet again, as we thought it was called St Louis, but the receptionist assured us it was the right place. There was decorating... More

A bit of a surprise, entering the hotel and standing half within a building site (reception and breakfast areas currently undergoing construction), but the welcome was exceptionally friendly. The lift is small, two persons with luggage can hardly manage. The room is of acceptable size with two comfy chairs; bed is queen size, bathroom contains all amenities but shower leaks... More

We stayed here for one night because the apartment we rented was a disaster. Our hotel room was such a relief. It was on the 5th floor overlooking the street - good view. The room was a typical size for Paris and in this price range. The toiletries were good, including robes and slippers. Oddly, there were dispensers of what... More

My sister and I flew from Rome to Paris to spend a day and night there, prior to flying to Barcelona for a cruise. This hotel looked so inviting on the web but upon arrival, it was a different story. We were treated terribly to start with. When we first made the reservations, we were told we would be picked... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our week in Paris for our honeymoon. When booking, the price and location was fantastic and the website really sold it to us. Upon checkin we were absolutely shocked at the tiny room that we were given. It was a shoebox and it was a struggle to fit our two large... More

We stayed in March and found the transport links to be very good. The hotel was clean and looked nice but is incredibly small. In saying this, I think my boyfriend and I got the smallest room in the building which had no view (our window looked onto a brick wall. This isnt great if you are claustrophobic. There are... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day.
