5 mn walk from the metro station... good geographical situation... clean room ... not that big but I guess once in Paris you are not looking for a great hotel as you will spend most of the time outside... very small elevator... great Thai restaurants around... quite neighborhood...

They won't store luggage from checkout till flight. Reception is indifferent, stubborn, and argumentative. Room is smelly and dirty. No pillows in the whole hotel. Not worth the price. The neighborhood is sketchy at night time with all sorts of characters lurking about just outside.

I choosed this hotel because it was the cheapest one near the fair center La Halle Frayssinet. The good: the position is convenient as the hotel is near the metro station "maison blanche" which goes directly to the Louvre or St.Germain areas. Staff is smiley and the asian suburb where it's located looks safe. The bad: my room was dirty... More

I have been 1 night in this hotel. The owner was friendly and helpful. The room was not so equipped, anyway it was enough clean. The hotel is situated in a nice multi-etnical area, with a lot of asian restaurants around

Hotel is quite near the Maison Blanche station, probably about 5 min walk. It is also near a train station. But I will definitely advise future travelers to consider the luggage-unfriendliness of Paris train station before booking this hotel. There are so many flights of stairs in their train station and this definitely mean lugging of heavy luggage around train... More

I booked the Hotel Novex a few weeks ahead, scrambling to find a Paris hotel before leaving for Europe. I chose the Novex based on availibility, location (parents were staying nearby in a different hotel), and price (my brother and I stay in hostels and budget hotels). With very few recent reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. Novex is... More

My fiancee and I stayed here with some friends over New Years, and it was a good time. The staff has decent english speaking skills and are all very friendly. The rooms are not great, but not bad, the showers worked just fine, the beds were fairly clean and not too uncomfortable, and strangely enough, our room had a nice... More

My roommate and I stayed here April 8-11, 2005. Not the greatest of accomodations or cleanest of neighborhood, but fine nonetheless. The rooms were rather dank with a small bathroom and concave bed. It was definitely nice to have a private bathroom. The staff are very nice and helpful. The area is in the heart of Paris' Chinatown. There are... More

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighborhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
