I was only here for a day, but the staff were friendly, and everything went smoothly. The room was slightly small, but modern, well kept. The bathroom was a good size, and the shower was fantastic - a huge shower head from the ceiling. I didn't want to leave it! The bed was firm and comfy with lots of pillows.... More

I have stayed mulitple times at the Hotel Gabriel, it is one of my favorite hotels in Paris. Nicely equiped rooms, quite trendy, a great bio breakfast (excellent bread and croissants). Very friendly staff, and well located to the Place de la République.

The hotel is in a fantastic location; very easy to get to, lots of tube stations near by, lots of things to do and good restaurants. The decor is beautiful; very well thought out, warm and welcoming. The rooms are well spaced out, with a Night Cove sound system, which is a lovely addition. Everything is modern, clean and relaxing.... More

I have just checked out of Hotel Gabriel after a 3 night stay. I arrived early on Saturday morning via the Eurostar, after a very early start in London! Not only was my room already available at 10am, but I was offered an additional complementary breakfast (breakfast was already included for the next 3 days with my room rate). My... More

Stayed here March 2014 with my other half for 3nights/4days back in March. Just a 5min walk from the accessible Republique metro station. Plenty of eateries nearby. Hotel was furnished to a very high class luxury standard. Very friendly greeting from reception. 2nd floor room we had looking onto the street, wasn't noisy at all. Rooms were quiet small, if... This is a boring lifeless hotel with fee ident but not friendly staff. The rooms are clean but minute and ember I am not American expecting gigantic suites. The breakfast is French at its worst with not a sign of anything that might qualify as protein. Totally self service to boot. The bathroom works but it will be a long... More

I stayed in Gabriel Hotel for three nights while traveling to Paris with my friends from 30th Aug to 2nd Sept, 2014. For 180 euros, I got a small but clean room with a comfortable bed and a good Bathroom. A boutique hotel with one elevator so I typically walked up/down. Don't bring lots of luggage - no space in room and elevators are small and slow. Located near Place de Republique, abt 5 mins walk to 2 Metro stations and 15mins... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
