Very well located (right near entrance to Catacombs) and front desk staff were helpful to requests. But even for Parisian standards, room was small and not worth the money I paid for it. And Wifi was poor and continually dropping out..

Me and my mum recently visited Paris for a weekend away, and this hotel is perfect. The metro station is right outside the hotel, and is about 10 minutes to the Notre Dame, and about 15 minutes from other landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. Once you use the metro a couple of times it gets easier to use. The... More

We booked this hotel for 9 nights on the recommendation of a friend. We "splurged" on a triple room for the two of us and appreciated the extra space, full shower-bath, and separate bathroom stall. Each day our sheets were fresh and clean. Since we were on the second floor, we missed the big views but liked the short stair... More

We stayed in Hotel du Lion for 5 nights in a room with a French balcony looking over the street. Room was good and spacious enough. The best part was the neighbourhood that includes many restaurants, cafes, patisseries etc. without that many tourists, thus the prices are also lower. Metro is straight next to the hotel which is another very... More

Location is Excellent, Staff is Wonderful. Comfortable bed, clean organized room. Allowed to use cups, plates, and hot water from the boiler in the kitchen; even late at night. Just help yourself which was really comfortable for us. I repeat location is very important in a city like Paris and the location of Hotel Du Lion is PERFECT for walking... More

I stayed here in September 2015 during a brief visit to Paris. The hotel is only a two-minute walk from Denfert-Rochereau REF & Metro station, which is why I chose it as I was coming from CDG airport. The first thing you have to negotiate on arrival at this hotel is the long flight of stairs up to the reception... More

Stayed here for 3 nights due to its location at the terminus of the Orly Airport Bus, and RER line B and Metro line 4. Also Trip Advisor reviews were accurate suggesting a pleasant clean refurbished hotel. The reviews are also correct about the under-performing lift, but it does work and gets you up and down, if only with one... More

A basic hotel in an excellent location. If you're flying to Orly just get the bus from right outside the terminal and get off on the square next to the hotel. Access to a main metro station on the doorstep. Lots of good bars and restaurants nearby. Rooms are small but clean and adequate. Breakfast is good with table service.

As a frequent visitor to the hotel, I feel I know it pretty well. Whether its your first trip to Paris, or your 50th, this is THE place to stay for the budget conscious. With a direct view from our bed of the Tour Montparnasse and the Eiffel Tower, who could ask for better? Across the street is the foodies'... More

The hotel is about 5 minutes away from the OrlyBus and RER/Metro Denfert-Rochereau stop as well as the Catacombs - excellent place to reach all of Paris. A Monoprix supermarket is right across the street, as are many eateries. The Rue Daguerre across the street also has roadside stalls at which food and gelato may be purchased. The reception desk... Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
