I'm updating my reviews.. this is a very old one. This review refers to 2010 when I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. I tagged 2014 because tripadvisor do not allow me to tag 2010.. But the review is valid based on the recent pictures I saw. It is the same room, same decoration, same small bathroom It is... More

This charming little place is located in Montparnasse. Quiet street, almost no traffic. Our room was fine; most of all: clean! Tiny but newly refurbished bathroom. Nice beds, shutters in front of the windows; secure parking available next door (if booked) at €10 per night. Staff was very friendly and helpful and most of them speak English if you can't... More

I have spent two nights at the Hotel de la Loire. It was a business trip and the hotel was chosen by the University. Location was convenient for my meeting place and also for access from the Gare Paris East. Located in rather nondescript neighborhood, it may perhaps be a convenient base if travelling on a very tight budget and... More

The hotel was charming. Located in the 14th arrondissement it was a five minute walk to the nearest metro, Alesia. Perfect for feeling like a true parisian on a budget. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. They waited for a late check in which was very hospitable. The room was much larger than expected. We had a three bed... More

We dont know what to expect as it wasnt me who booked it. It was only a small hotel located on a quiet street.Hotel staff seemed nice, trying their best to talk to us in english. They let us checked in at 13:00 instead of 15:00, we're very thankful for that.Needs a total refurbishment though. Our 'tiny room' -clean & tidy. They... More

This hotel is located on a quiet side street near Alesia metro station. The room, which was next to the somewhat eccentric courtyard garden, was quite large if a little shabby, but clean where it mattered(bedlinen and towels were spotless and changed daily, toilet, handbasin and shower also clean) If you don't mind the odd bit of dust in a corner or chips... Appalling room in structurally unsound shack attached to courtyard wall at the back of hotel. Tiny, filthy, dark room full of stench, dust, dirt, mold, bed bugs, insects falling off ceiling on to bed (wasp). Wooden elements coming off the walls, the whole room was coming apart. Fire hazard; the walls are lined with same synthetic lining as found on... More

Located near metro station. Small and situated in nice area. Not everything was working well (e.g. leaking shower). We've paid 75 euro and that's what you can get for this money in Paris.

This hotel is unique, none of the rooms are same which makes it a welcome change from other low cost hotels. The location is fantastic, only a few minutes from two metro stations and is situated on a pedestrian street ( a rare thing in Paris) making it a very quiet location. The staff were very friendly and the room... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
