After reading the reviews I knew what to expect when booking this hotel. This was my 4th visit to paris with 2 young adult ladies and I wanted a place close to the Eiffel Tower and safe, this hotel was it especially at the rate. The carpets were removed during our stay in the hallways and stairs for refurbishment and... More

We stayed in two hotels during our week in Paris and have come to realize that unless you spend a lot of money for a hotel, you get a very small room. That said, this was in a good location, quiet, and friendly workers (they spoke English well). They had an elevator and a shuttle to the airport.

My daughter and I stayed here last month. Our room was small, especially the shower, but if you are only there for a few days this hotel is in a great location. The staff there were very helpful and the rooms very clean. If you are wanting to stay longer than a couple of days I would choose somewhere else.

The main attraction in planning this trip was the location and price. We were not disappointed in either feature of this hotel. The room was a good size my only complaint is the heavy linens give me a strange sense of a need to have them well aired. The staff was very friendly and helpful and overall I had a... More

We visited the hotel Rive Gauche as a family of 4 girls with my mum. Centrally located, the hotel is in the middle of many bars and restaurants and within 5 mins walk of the Eiffel Tower and 10 mins from the closest metro. The area surrounding the hotel has a wonderful parisian feel with places to eat outside that... More

Our first trip to Paris we fell in love with the convienience and location of this hotel. Yes it is small, yes the elevator is small, yes the stairs are cramped. But the location, friendliness of the staff, and the security is worth it. I was able to do laundry down the street, we were able to walk to anywhere... More

The hotel was less than a 10 minute walk from the nearest Metro station, which made it very convenient, but the room was tiny and the bathroom was so small that it was more akin to a closet. There was no counter space to place even a toothbrush, the shower was surrounded by makeshift Formica slabs and there was only... More

I had chosen this hotel based on reviews, location, and cost. It did not disappoint. The hotel has a quaint boutique feel. The location was great! Easy walk to the Eiffel Tower area, and very close to the metro station. You can actually walk to many other places if your up for it. We walked one day from the Arc... More

We made our reservation through their website directly as they offered a 'web fare' special which was within our price range. The hotel is situated in a quaint street close to grocers and bakeries which we were thrilled about. If you're looking for a spot close to the Eiffel Tower look no further as you are literally a 5' walk... More

My daughter and I stayed at this charming hotel for a week in July, 2013. The room was very clean, decent size bathroom with great water pressure in the shower. Our room over looked the street offering us views of flowered balconies. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable, and they spoke English which... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
