Beautiful boutique hotel within walking distance of some fantastic galleries and most of the key sights. Fantastic central location. The rooms are snug but well designed and decorated. Loved some of the space saving ideas and the contemporary design. Very warm and relaxing. The staff are amazing, friendly and accommodating for those whose French is not as good as it... More

The owners have clearly put great thought into their hotel and it shows. The hotel is in the centre of things by the shops of the Grands Boulevards. The room, bathroom and lift were all of typical Parisian size i.e. small. The bathroom was, however. excellent with a long bath to stretch out in; mirrors at the correct height and temperature controls... More

We didn't expect that Breakfast was included in our booking, and was delightfully surprised when we were told that Breakfast was included in our booking the first day of our arrival and checking-in process. We did re-confirm again with the receptionist on 1 Dec 2015, and she told us that YES breakfast is inclusive of our booking. To our greatest... More

In Paris they charge a hotel tax that is extra. It is noted at reception. Leave time to pay this bill and check out because the taxi starts his meter at the time you ask to be picked up not from the time you get in his taxi. Anyhow, we enjoyed our stay here. The staff aims to make you... More

The employees are really nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I had some issues with the air conditioning. The hotel says in its promotion that the rooms have individual air control, but it is not exactly that; they do, but they can still be controlled by the reception.

While I had so,e r current issues with the Ir conditioning in my room, the tartar going up by a centralized control even though you we told in the hotel web page says each room has individualized tempter control, I must say that the four employees I delt with were fry pleasant. We stayed at Hotel Chevanel for the last few days of our honeymoon. I admit the location was great and the hotel was in good condition. My gripe comes with the front desk. I attempted to have the front desk book reservations at a rest

This was a perfect place to say if having a short break in Paris. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. Close to the metro and hop on buses so great for sight seeing. Good restaurants close by. Hotel is boutique in nature which might not suit all and the breakfast is limited but more than adequate.... More

Hotel chavanel was brilliant on all fronts. Everything that we asked for was delivered especially when our air conditioning briefly stopped working. When we wanted an ice bucket for the champagne this was delivered very quickly. The room was impeccable. Although the breakfast was extortionate in pricing (20 euro per person per day) we were happy to eat out. They... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
