Located in the middle of Montmartre near the main shopping street and away from the madness at the top of the hill. There actually seem to be more Parisians around this area than tourists. The hotel itself is like others we have stayed in, where you have a creaky spiral staircase that accesses all the floors, and a small elevator... More

Where do I even begin? My mother and I planned a last minute trip to Paris and Rome over this past Easter week (April 1 to April 7, 2015). This hotel is absolutely wonderful. Juliette cheerfully greeted my mother and I upon our arrival, and we immediately knew from that moment that our trip was going to be great! The... More

I have stayed in Paris several times and this is by far the best place I have stayed. Well situated in a "real" neighbourhood and easily accessible by Metro (Blanche). Staff are friendly and helpful. Free tea or coffee and viennoiserie after 3pm. Rooms are comfortable and larger than most Parisian hotels. Definitely will stay here again. Highly recommended.

Stayed here with my mum. Lovely clean and comfy. Location is key here. Downside was breakfast - not worth the £12 so I wouldn't bother and eat out at one of the many delightful cafés in the area. Fabulous location for many of the city's sites

We were very pleased to stay here (although taxi's had trouble finding it). We like the artistic flair and personality. Nice view of street, which is relatively quiet; there is a famous old movie theatre across the street. Nice window opening to street. Great breakfast places only steps away. Very close to one of original windmills, walking distance to Sacre... More

We stayed at the Hotel des Artes for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. It's true that the rooms, we even received an upgrade to a larger room than actually booked, are quite small, however the size is more than enough to sleep in. And this and the cleanliness is all we expect from a city hotel - we... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms might be small but you're in a fun, busy area of Paris in a hotel with character so that's fine. The beds are comfortable. Very good breakfast and useful to be able to make teas and coffees downstairs. Myself and my friend came for a long weekend packed full of culture,... More

This is the third time I have had the pleasure to stay at the Hotel des Arts with my family when they make their annual journey to Europe from the US to pay me a visit. The rooms are very comfortable, the location is top notch, the staff is helpful and friendly. My aging parents fell in love with this... More

Lovely hotel with friendly and very helpful staff-nice, clean and cosy room with a nice bed to rest your head! Breakfast was lovely and set you up for the day-hotel is located a 5 min walk up a mini hill from the metro-station stop-Blance. You are surrounded by bars, places to eat and drink and only a 15 min walk... More

This month was my second time at the Hotel Des Arts - Montmartre. Two years ago I came for the first time, I found the hotel very charming and comfortable. The warm staff was very friendly and helpful. When it came time to book another trip to Paris again this year, I did not think to look at anywhere else... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
