Myself and boyfriend went to Paris for my 21st, this hotel is beautifully decorated in pinks and blacks throughout ! Although the lift is a little tiny, it's a cute feature. I really loved our hotel rooms, even with its somewhat saucy interior. The staff we're lovely and helpfull. the metro is directly outside and once you get the hang of... More

Like taking the metro and saving money by not taking cabs? If so than this if a great place. Out off the main tourist areas and too far to walk but easily to get to by metro. Staff will help you figure out the metro maps. Cafes are cheaper around the area too. Small and slow elevator but it is... More

If you are OK with the Paris Metro - then this hotel is a decent spot. The metro is literally outside the front door of the hotel. The staff were helpful and pleasant and the Google room was quaint. Walls are thin. Housekeeping is noisy in the hallways. But overall a great hotel for a short stay. The neighbourhood, while... More

My daughter stayed here-I arrived the next day and due to miscommunication, she checked out before I arrived. Tired, flustered and completely lost without the luxuries of gps and cell service to communicate with my daughter- the hotel staff both allowed me to rest in their lobby, use their wifi, dial out their phone, AND store my luggage for hours.... Me and my colleagues stayed at this hotel 3 days. The first morning hot water disappeared. My colleagues was forced to shower in the cold water. I gave up my breakfast instead of waiting for a hot shower. Problem was fixed in around half an hour. This hotel is very small, but tolerable for business trips stays or jus sightseeing... More

very nice hotel; we've arrived there in June, when they were renovating the frond side (kinda bad timing) and first morning was awful since workers started they're day while we were still sleeping. we've complained at the reception about the noise and they changed our room, no questions asked, they just told us to leave our luggage packed and moved... The Ideal Hotel is located right on top of the Metro d'orleans, which is about 15 minutes to Notre Dame and 30 minutes to Gare du Nord. The rooms are small & showers are tiny but how much time do you spend in the room? The breakfast is €12 per person - don't get it, as there is a pastry... More

We booked this hotel because we preferred to save on the cost of sleeping and spend on the joys of Paris. However, it turned out to be really excellent. The staff were extremely nice and competent. The room had everything and was comfortable. The hotel is right in front of a metro station for line no. 4 that serves central... More

Pros: Port De Orleans subway stop is located outside the hotel. Public transport is very accessible. Cons: Cleanliness: Bathroom has mold. Rooms are not clean. Ar conditioning: Rooms have no AC which means you have to open the window and that will make your room dirty and very noisy. Comfort and Amenities: No AC and poor amenities.

This hotel looks nicer on the pictures than it does in real life. The metro station next to the hotel is called Porte d'orleans which is one of the last stops and is on the periphery line where Paris meets the suburbs. Had a hard time finding a single supermarket or a pharmacy so make sure to get what you... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
