We stayed at the Hotel Mogador as a self guided Paris extension of a Viking cruise. The price was reasonable, the rooms were clean but the standout was the attentiveness of the management and staff. While we didn't speak French we had no difficulty communicating and the staff went above and beyond in suggesting restaurants, providing accurate directions and making... More

Very good value for money. Staff were very friendly and the location was very good and central. I have no complaints about this hotel and would stay here again. Its not going to blow you away on a comfort level but for the price it was very good value..

Stayed here 3 nights. Great area and felt safe with a mix of commercial offices, restaurants and shops. Hotel had a rustic feel. Was very clean and our room was a good size for 3 of us (room 22 on the second floor). It was noisy but it didn't worry me ... windows were open as it was hot. If... More

It's not often you stumble across a centrally located paris 2 star hotel that is managed in a good way, situated in a prime location, situated in a nice quiet side street, 5 mins walk to Roisy bus stop for airport and Galeries lafayette! Here it is! The overnight 2 day trip was a 50th birthday celebration for my friend... More

This is not a hotel for the elderly or unfit as there is no lift and the stairs are steep and narrow. We were on the fourth floor(top) Quite noisy from the street and adjacent building renovations.Staff however are pleasant.Very handy for city centre and the shops plus the Metro.

There are some very unfair comments about this hotel . I totally agree with the reviewer who states not to be so picky - for a 2 star hotel this is excellent. What impressed most of all was the friendly staff ( quite rare in our experience at Paris hotels) , all staff spoke some English, the rooms were clean... More

Great quirky little hotel near to the Paris Centre. Located in a quiet street but very close to a busy cafe/restaurant area, it fitted our needs very well. We had absolutely no issue with our stay, but having read some of the other less complimentary reviews can appreciate why the more fussy travellers amongst us have left some of their... More

For its budget and star rating, we found the room quite spacious. We had a room with it's window near the kitchen but only heard noise when the window was open. We found the room clean but the bathroom a little outdated and run down. The hotel has a very good location.

My husband and I spent 5 or 6 nights at Hotel Mogador, at the end of September 2014. We have stayed there at least 5 times in the last few years, and knew that it did not have an elevator, so we asked for a room on the first floor a few weeks before we arrived. When we got there,... More

Nice enough hotel, great quiet location very near 2 Metro stations, but an overpowering smell of eggs as you walk in spoilt first impressions. Staff friendly enough but didn't really explain where anything was, how anything worked etc. Family room a bit disappointing, plenty of opportunities for banged heads, wires & sockets to fiddle with and so on. Comfortable beds,... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
