I recently stayed at this hotel and want to compliment the staff for outstanding service. The public areas of the hotel were charming. The rooms however were beyond tiny at the cost of 450 Euros per night. Impossible to have two suitcases open at once unless you put one on the bed. While the staff and the complimentary bar was... Dear Mr or Mrs Wilbur52, Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay and for your compliments to the staff members. I will surely share this comment with them as it will please them greatly. Concerning the sizes of our rooms, the hotel rooms on the Left Bank of Paris are usually smaller that on the right... More

Rooms while small like all Paris hotels were very well appointed and maintained. The staff were extremely helpful and professional. Loved the small donng area and lounge for either breakfast each morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon. Really well located in Saint Germain also. The restaurants booked by the hotel for us were also first rate.

From our early arrival to departure we were made welcome and comfortable at this beautiful hotel. The staff -- Laura, Alex, Amelie were filled with recommendations whenever asked. Easy walk to Notre Dame, cozy neighborhood bistros, metro, in what felt a safe environment. Yes, the room was small - this is Paris ! Who needs to camp out in the... More

These are by far the smallest rooms that I have ever stayed in. There is no room for your luggage - tiny closet - tiny bathroom. So small that the coffee service is under the bathroom sink. Lovely location - lovely breakfast and sitting rooms on the main floor. For these prices you should be able to sit in your... More

Dear TeriF, We are so sorry to hear you were disappointed with your room but glad to know you enjoyed the location, our breakfast and the lounges. This is a gem of a B&B in Paris. It is in a great location - right in the heart of St Germain and within walking distance of all the great sights and food and drink/ shopping etc. The rooms are quite simple but cleverly fitted out with lots of nice and generous touches. The best part of the hotel... More

This was my second stay at Esprit Saint Germain, a true gem of a boutique hotel, perfectly situated in the very best part of the Left Bank for cafe-hopping, dining, shopping, and window shopping (or "leche-vitrine" as the French say, literally 'licking the window'). This cozy property, which won an award as the Best Luxury Boutique Hotel Worldwide in 2013,... More

This was my first visit to Paris and stayed here at my travel agent's suggestion because of it's ideal location. I see on some reviews there are complaints about the small rooms - really? Not knowing what to expect of Paris, this was a gem of a find. From the moment we walked in, super friendly and inviting. The hotel is stunning in boutique style with cosy nooks to sit back and relax. We couldn't have hoped for more.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
