This is a gem of a B&B in Paris. It is in a great location - right in the heart of St Germain and within walking distance of all the great sights and food and drink/ shopping etc. The rooms are quite simple but cleverly fitted out with lots of nice and generous touches. The best part of the hotel... More

This was my second stay at Esprit Saint Germain, a true gem of a boutique hotel, perfectly situated in the very best part of the Left Bank for cafe-hopping, dining, shopping, and window shopping (or "leche-vitrine" as the French say, literally 'licking the window'). This cozy property, which won an award as the Best Luxury Boutique Hotel Worldwide in 2013,... More

This was my first visit to Paris and stayed here at my travel agent's suggestion because of it's ideal location. I see on some reviews there are complaints about the small rooms - really? You're in Paris - what are you doing in your hotel room?? My room was beautiful and spotless - beds were incredibly comfortable. Fresh fruit in... More

Not knowing what to expect of Paris, this was a gem of a find. From the moment we walked in, super friendly and inviting. The hotel is stunning in boutique style with cosy nooks to sit back and relax. We couldn't have hoped for more.

First of all, I have to apologise to the front office staff at the Hotel Esprit Saint Germain for taking too long to write this review. My wife and I stayed there on the weekend of the 30th January 2015 for the first time, and will do so again. We are regular visitors to Paris, having been several times per... More

The hotel is perfectly charming and nice but I would not recommend it for families. The ground floor (living room and breakfast room) are great and you almost feel like you are home there. Breakfast is outstanding and there is an open self service bar (with limited choices) that is very inviting. The other great benefit of the hotel is... More

Dear JohnnyFun2012, Thank you for taking the time to write a comment after your stay. All comments are helpful and allow us to constantly improve our service. Concerning our room service, we do offer a few simple dishes prepared on property and the rest, as you mentioned, is delivered from nearby restaurants. The cost of these dishes is however indicated... More

My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Esprit Saint Germain with our three kids (ages 14-22) and we cannot imagine a better place to stay in Paris. First, the location. We were in Paris for New Year's and the city was jam packed. Every attraction was overwhelmingly crowded. After a long day of sightseeing, it was so nice to... More

The hotel is located in a lively and fun neighborhood. We purposely chose this five star hotel in the 6th arrondissement over another a highly recommended five star larger and fancier hotel by the Champs Elysee, fully aware that we were compromising space for location. In fact, the Esprit St. Germain was even more expensive than the recommended one. By... More

Late in posting this review – an oversight - we spent 11 nights there end June 2014 in the Prestige Room, also known as the owners room. Hotel had been highly recommended by our Travel Agent for its location, style, comfort and service. She was right in all respects. On the left bank, easy walking distance (and we are mature... More

My husband, grandson and I spent 5 nights at the Esprit St, Germain. The hotel is well located on the Left Bank. Terrific stores and restaurants are a few steps from the hotel. Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
