Not so easy at first looking for, but then it's quite easy. Room is very nice, includes the mini pantry. A basket of warm croissant was surprised on the first morning. The bathroom and toilet were clean, outside the room. I like this hotel.

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights and would recommend Hotel de la Mare to anyone looking for a reasonably priced break in Paris. Our studio was very clean, secure and had everything we needed including a fantastic bathroom. The lady on reception was very welcoming and helpful and staff delivered a basket of croissants etc every morning... More

Myself and my best friend were stayin in Paris for a 5 day site seeing trip and wanted an affordable place to stay where we could relax and feel safe. The hotel is located in Menelimontant which is about 20 mins away by subway to all of the major sites and therefore really accessible. Although the area doesn't look like... More

Stayed at the Hotel de la Mare on my own to attend a concert and the hotel was definitely one of my highlights! I got to visit Oscar Wilde's grave at the Pere Lachaise cemetery (a 20/15 minute walk from the hotel) which has been on my bucket list for a few years now. I'm a young woman and thought... More

I had an excellent stay at Hotel de la Mare! Staff was very friendly, room was very clean, connection to the city centre was good... You have some authentic restaurants nearby and if you want to save money, there's a frozen food store nearby, which is great because you have a little kitchenette with a microwave in your room! I... My brother and I shared a twin room here, and I was overwhelmingly impressed with the place. As a hotel it was not only reasonable with great amenities, (mini kitchenette in room, shared bathroom), the thing that blew me away was the personal service of breakfast being delivered to your room in a basket. It was lovely. The thing that... More

I had a very good experience at Hotel de La Mare. I was kindly received by such nice staff even outside of usual working hours, the facilities were so clean and well presented, they had some very useful maps of the surroundings with good tips of things to do and see. Besides being a very good value and easy to... More

We both enjoyed our stay very much, the room was clean and everything seemed newly renovated. We liked having the ability to cook our own meals when we wanted to save money, and the local area is full of great bakeries and supermarkets which makes feeding yourself easy. The basket of pastries in the morning was a fantastic way to... More

We stayed at Hotel de la Mare for two nights in late December 2014, and had an absolutely fantastic stay. The hotel is lovely and I cannot priase or recommend this place enough, it is simply brilliant. Pro's: 1. Staff - welcoming, caring, cannot do enough for you. They left us chocolates on our pillows, brought us crosisants/bread in the... More

This was my kind of hotel. Small and friendly, very clean with excellent service. We chose to have a room with a shared bathroom and it was no bother at all. The bathroom was always immaculate. It has recently been renovated to a high standard and the icing on the cake was the complimentary warm bread and croissants each morning... More

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighborhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
