The main reason I stayed at this hotel was because I like peace and quiet after running around Paris all day and this hotel affords many rooms with a beautiful view of a private garden, a fountain and the sound of beautiful bird song. Located about a 15-minute walk from the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame and the Seine. The beautiful... More

Comfortable rooms, small hotel, friendly service, conveniently located adjacent Luxembourg Gardens, Metro, central to inner Paris. Highly recommended. Restaurant on ground floor catered for breakfast and dining if one did not wish to wander down the street.

This hotel had been recommended to us by friends and we were even more pleased with our stay than we had anticipated. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful with our questions of how to get to various points of interest. The location was perfect to get on the RER or to walk in the Latin Quarter. When I return... More

On the day of arrival we were early, aprox 11am so we checked into the hotel and our room was already ready which was very convenient. The room and bathroom was small but that is just typical Paris! Very comfortable bed, good shower, blackout curtains, hair dryer available to use. They even left little macaroons and a welcome message which... More

The staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and the location was perfect for us. We didn't want to be in the "Times Square" of Paris near the Champs Elysees nor right on top of the Eiffel tower. This neighborhood was lively and fun without a million tourists everywhere, and walking distance to most attractions as well as the metro... More

Dear mogi14, Thank you for sparing your time to share your feedback about your recent experience with us. We were delighted that you enjoyed our location, far from the noise and the crowd, and yet within a walking distance to the main touristic attractions. Our district is central and lively: you can walk to the Latin District (15min), Saint Germain... More

We stayed 4 nights, April 26 - 30, in a superior street view room #302. It was super small! We couldn't walk past each other in any part of the room. There was ample closet space for hanging clothes and shelves. The room was very clean and the view was lovely. Loved having the window open while in the room.... More

Stayed here for a week and had a really good stay. Room (x06) was good with a larger than average bathroom. Storage is limited, as in other more than five Paris hotels we have been in. Breakfast in attached nice Luco restaurant was ok without being fantastic. Only negative was the quite slow free wi-fi. You can pay to get... More

Fantastic Staff, nothing too much trouble for them. Learnt a bit of French everyday, and they were happy to translate/explains things to us. The rooms were comfortable, close to public transport (Railway Station). Great Restaurant "Le Luco" From Non French Speaking Aussies.

This boutique hotel is situated in a great location close to RER direct line to CDG, so access is not an issue. The interior decoration and fit out is very querky but stylish and comfortable and very clean. Our room on 4th floor with a view to a nearby garden (not the Jardin Luxembourg) was compact but functional. I am... More

Dear MichelleBK, Thank you for taking time to share your comments about your stay with us. We were glad to read that you particularly enjoyed our location. My overall experience about this hotel is very positive. First of all I should mention that Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg is easily accessible from CDG airport, we needed to use only one train, no changes, so easy. I spent two nights there with my sister on our first ever visit to Paris. The staff at the reception was always very polite,... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
