Location i couldn't fault, we stayed for 3 nights metro stations all around so really easy to navigate. Though i found the room to be small, it had what was basically needed and for the limited size of buildings in Paris i was happy. Modern decoration throughout. The staff were good, especially the night Weekend workout he was fantastic. We... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights at Christmas and was very pleased with its location in the Marais, close to several metro stations, and with the central parts of Paris within walking distance. There were also a great deal of excellent restaurants and a bakery just across the street. The staff was very helpful and attentive to my... More

The room was small and dark and felt stuffy. The bath room was nice and modern though. The location is good because it was right next to the metro. The worst was the generally rude staff and poor service. The older male concierge who worked at night was rude and not helpful at all. He slept on the couch all... More

This is a very conviently located hotel in the centre of Paris within walking distance of the main attractions and right next to a metro station. The rooms are small, with small TV sets (but why do you want to watch television while staying in Paris ?......), but clean with modern bath rooms. There are some stairs to walk as... More

This is a tale to dispel all preconceived notions of the French and their "attitude" toward Americans. We had rented an apartment in the building next door to this hotel. Before we left the States, I had purchased a voucher for a tour and upon checking my Ipad the night before the tour, found out that the tour operator would require... Hotel Ecole Centrale is a small hotel on a quiet street. It is one minute from the Arts et Metier Metro Stop on Line 11. Prices are reasonable. Rooms are very small, but clean. Hotel has air conditioning, but French hotels large and small provide limited A/C. Unfortunately, we were there when weather was not hot, but warm. Practically never... More

We choose this hotel primarily on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews. Our preferred hotel in this Paris neighbourhood, Hotel Paris France, being booked. The hotel is 3* on the basis of its facilities; our superior double room, about 10m2, was well equipped; bed was comfortable; bathroom well laidout and modern fittings; TV; tea/coffee making facilities; stocked fridge; air con. One of the primary reasons for choosing this hotel was it's advertised air conditioning. We were given a room on the 5th floor where heat rises, only to discover that the "air conditioning" would not go below what showed as 22 C (72F), but felt more like 80F+ in reality. We were told this is a restriction in Paris, and... More

This hotel is in The Marais area. It's in a good position and the metro was just across the road. We were disappointed with the "free internet" as we could only have one devise connected at a time and we had trouble accessing it as it was very slow. The staff was friendly and helpful. The elevator was very old... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
