I stayed here by myself for two nights in May and enjoyed myself. Friendly staff and a clean, homey building. The rooms are closed for cleaning/maintenance between noon and 3, and I arrived at 2, so I was able to leave my stuff in the locked luggage room and go exploring. You have to buzz at the front door to... More

Great location - that is by far the stand out quality of this place. I also found it to be very clean. But in reality I wouldn't realy call it a hostel - it's more of a lodging for school and university groups and therefore as functional as you would expect, and little else. There is no chill out or... More

I have mixed feelings about my 6-night stay at MIJE in July, 2014. First the positives - the location! Steps away from two metro lines and the Seine river, the Marais is an awesome and central neighborhood. Most nights after sightseeing we would return and grab dinner locally; there are a lot of great options. Shopping in the area was... More

I am the leader of a school group, and we stayed here four adults with 34 children. The centre has a lot to recommend it to travellers; the location is great - 2 mins from the Seine, 10 mins walk from the Notre Dame, 10 minutes from the Place des Vosges, in the heart of the Marais (4th Arr.). The... More

Superbly located. Quiet street but surrounded by shops, restaurants and night life. Small room was clean and had a nice window. Breakfast is nothing special, but the location and value are tough to beat. I would have given a 4 star if they would not have moved me into a community (6 person) room on my last night (despite making... More

I stayed for 3 nights at this hostel, and I can definitly recommend it. I traveled by myself, and stayed in a room with 3 other girls. I got a room in the top floor, with a nice roof top view. There is no elevator, so you have to like some daily workout in quite windy stairs. ;) The room... More

The location is exception. Close to the subway in a quiet neighboorhood. Small room with shared bathroom. The property seems to be one of those listed houses with wooden floor and high ceiling, which I think is cute. Simple, but good enough breakfast. Totally worthy it for a hostel. I would stay there again.

This my first time staying in a hostel, and I had a wonderful experience. The location is great, only a 5-10 minute walk to the Notre Dame, and a 3-5 minute walk to the nearest metro. It's on a clean, quiet and safe street. The staff were fine, and they were helpful. The man who checked us in (Daniel) told... More

As is often the case, rooms in a hostel have a very functional, institutional feel. But this one is clean, professionally run, and an utterly lovely building. And for the price, you cannot find a more affordable place to sleep in Paris. The location is fantastic as well. Even though I feel I may be beyond the age of the... More

The location, nice functional rooms, and the breakfast are really great for the price. We had a great time. The toilet is a shared one, hence there are some problems that are usual. But otherwise , it was a good choice!

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
