5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2008

I quite enjoyed my stay at MIJE, but I can see that it wouldn't necessarily be everyone's cup of tea so I'll try to simply lay down the facts. Take them as you so desire. My bed was way up in an attic type area, very cosy indeed, and had no problems with the sleeping arrangements. There was a bathroom... More

I'm moving on from the whole hostel experience but I just love the MIJE so much. I first stayed here (and at Fourcy) three years ago and spent 5 days here again in July 2006. It's still just as great. The location simply is the best. The Marais is such a wonderful place and to stay there is even better.... More

This place is so pretty from the outside. It has bedbugs and has had them...the staff finally told me the truth after I heard people calling doctors for the bites. The night guard is nasty and dishonest. They also have bedbugs here and lie about it. The beds are saggy. You are treated rudely at the breakfast and allowed only... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighorhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
