I wanted a reasonably cheap place to stay with a good location and this was perfect. It has a great location near the Seine river and the Marais district. A subway stop is a few blocks away. The place is run professionally and the facilities are maintained properly. I stayed in a room with four beds. The shower and sink... More

I stayed here as part of a 3 day city break with two other friends. We booked a three bedroom private- this was a bunkbed and a single bed. Room was very basic but clean. The location is fantastic, very close to Notre Dame and a great area for bars/restaurants. Breakfast was great with bread, cereal, yoghurt, pastry and tea/coffee.... More

If you have a Romantic mindset and don't mind bunk beds, you can't do better than Les Maisons Internationale de la Jeunesse et des Etudiants (MIJE) in the Marais of Paris, one block from the Seine -- for about 32 Euros. And that includes breakfast and bottomless coffee! I have now stayed at least three times at each old mansion,... More

Hostel was clean enough and the beds were comfortable enough. But I found there was more families there than young backpackers. The hostel always seemed deserted and no one was ever in the common area, it was almost creepy. Besides the lack in people the place was fine to sleep. Great location!! Hard to find though.

The location was great - close to metro stops and shops! My room was clean, and there were no bed bugs! (I was worried after reading some reviews) I stayed in a 4 bedroom dorm which was pretty small!! It's not a good place for meeting people because they dont have a common room.. I was very disappointed that this... More

I stayed here with my school for a long weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. As it was my first time staying in a hostel, I can definitely say that it exceeded my expectations. Me and my friends stayed in a 3 Bed room which consisted of a set of bunk bed2 and 1 single but it was very... More

I stayed here for like 2 weeks and I can only say, it is the best. Very cheap and nice food. Especialy the wildlife in my room was incomparable. The food was just bad, it smelled bad and tasted like sulfid. I am glad I survived my stay. And the beds are even worse, you could as well sleep on... More

This was the worst hotel I've ever been. The food was verry verry verry bad. And for breakfast you get only ONE little croissant, a half old piece of bread and one glass of orange-juice. The room was small but okay. The smell in the hotel was bad.

I have stayed here twice on school trips with our high-school group. This is a very affordable, no-frills place to stay. The breakfast is basic, but good. The rooms are spacious enough. The shared toilet facilities don't bother me, but they may some people. The toilets are cleaned everyday and weren't too bad. It's good to have the shower in... More

Rooms are big, specially the ones at the last floor. bunk bed are great with reading lamp and space to set you things. Shower and sink inside the room is a plus. Bathroom ouside was always cleaned and never had to wait to use it. Great shower pressure (which is rare in Paris). The view to Notre Dame makes you... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
