You're in Paris right? That's the most important thing. Is the hotel perfect? No. And is the hotel luxurious? No. But that's why you're only paying some $200 per night! The rooms are small, yes we've heard it before, so if you haven't already realised, so are most of the rooms in Paris. The location is perfect and exactly where... More

This is the best hotel in this price range you will find! The location is absolutely the best, you will walk everywhere from here. The only time we need a cab was to go to the Eiffel Tower and to and from the train station. The room was of course cozy as they are all in Paris, but we did... More

Location is great, its a lively neighborhood, but you don't get any noise pollution. The staff are professional and very helpful, the cleaning staff are fantastic at their job. The rooms ARE A DECENT SIZE! (I was a solo traveller.) Breakfast was lovely. The beds are so comfy. There is enough closest space to lay out all of your luggage.... More

This hotel is within close walking distance to the Notre Dame and the Luxembourg gardens. It is well serviced by multiple train stations and metro and train lines. We had room number 2 which faces into the courtyard. The room was very quite and is decent in size. The only slightly annoying thing was the the room is very poorly... More

Stayed for 4 nights . Extremely professional staff and very neat and clean hotel. NOT the smallest rooms in Europe. Good location for Notre Dame. Room faced onto the street but it was quiet except when garbage collected one day. Courtyard facing might avoid this. Upgraded at reasonable add-on to a queen bed and bath. No noise from within hotel... More

The location was terrific - fun neighborhood, convenient to exploring the left bank and Ile de le Cite. The front desk staff was welcoming and extremely helpful with reservations and advice. Nicely decorated. The room was TINY. Barely big enough for 2 adults with week's worth of luggage, but I would stay here again. Skip the pricy breakfast and explore... More

We stayed here over the New Year 2015 holidays and it was brilliant! So bijou and unique in design both the hotel itself and rooms and the staff were wonderful! It was so perfectly located in a nice area within easy walking distance of the Seine and Notre Dame too. We would most definately stay here again and can't wait... More

We stayed at a sister hotel by the Pantheon so thought we would try a different hotel. Small is definitely the word, lobby, elevator, bedroom but especially the bathroom and the shower, however had a lovely modern decor. Breakfast was "interesting" if you wanted anything but hard boiled eggs you cooked yourself ...different !! The location is perfect, walking distance... More

We really enjoyed this hotel and the excellent location. Upon arrival we received a room upgrade to a slightly larger room that faced the courtyard which was quiet. The best thing about this hotel is it's location - just blocks from the Latin Quarter and basically walking distance to everything. The bed was comfortable bathroom nice. The only issue we... More

After extensive review, chose the Hotel Design Sorbonne and liked it very much. Although small as everything else in Paris, you have the choice of slightly larger rooms. Well furnished, an iMac for internet or TV. The option for breakfast can be turned down as there are croissanteries around for half of the price. Staff is friendly and helpful. It... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
