last minute booked on the hotel website for 1 night. Although i booked a superior room and expected a somewhat larger room than a classic one. The size of the room was incredibly small. So was the bathroom - the shower cabin was as small as a shower in a mobilhome/caravan trailer. But, for 1 night, i didn't really count... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this small hotel in the Latin Quarter in the middle of Sorbonne University and a few blocks from the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, the Cluny Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and close to three metro stations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is close to many good cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and shopping. We walked... More

This is a charming hotel with very friendly staff. It is in the middle of the Latin Quarter allowing you to walk to some of the main sites and is very close to the metro and RER for those arriving at Paris CDG. The room was small, but well-fitted and very comfortable. The Macs in the room are a welcome... More

Our room was almost big enough to "swing a cat". It was THE smallest hotel room we've ever been in. The toilet was ALMOST unusable due to its being in a tight corner partially blocked by the sink and a hair drier. The shower enclosure did not, and could not, contain water due to a 1 cm. gap along the... More

This is a great little hotel, located near to Luxembourg gardens and the Sorbonne University. It is a pleasant, downhill walk to Notre Dame and near to metro stops to explore the rest of Paris. The rooms are small but very well designed so that you can make the most of the space you have. They are very clean and... More

Having always loved this part of Paris & our more familiar haunts having no vacancies, I took a chance on this hotel based on reviews at Venere. We were NOT disappointed. Directly across the street from the famed university of the same name, this is a relaxed neighborhood with a delightful ambience. Cafes and restaurants aplenty are within a few... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
