When I visit Paris, I don’t spend much time in my hotel. I sleep there, I shower there, I keep my suitcase there. So, spending hundreds and hundreds on a fancy room with a view of the Eiffel Tower seemed a bit pointless. I was taking my sister to Paris for her 18th birthday, and surprising her by also bringing... More

This hotel is all you need if your after somewhere to lay your head at the end of the day! We used as a base to rest and recover! Simple but effective... Comfortable bed, TV, wash basin, shower and toilet. Breakfast was a lovely traditional French breakfast... Don't expect bacon and eggs!! The hotel was clean and tidy. The staff... More

Since it is a budget hotel, I don't expect much from it and I was pretty satisfied with it according to its price. I visited Paris in September 2014 and the only problem I had was with the air conditioning system. It was really very poor and we had to open windows every night to have fresh air and to... More

Typical Ibis hotel. Clean rooms but very small. Nice restaurant with pizza specialities on evening. Breakfast was ok but long line of people waiting to cut bread which slowed everyone else from being served. Very difficult to find unless you are in a taxi. Nice park opposite and several local eating places on main road (10 mins walk). Choice of... More

Value for money but...hard mattress, bunk placed above your pillows on double bed, not happy as we booked a room for two with a double bed only. Reception staff helpful, Continental breakfast good but there is supermarket next door where you can buy food also, but being able to have 2 or 3 really good coffees at breakfast was awesome.... The Ibis Budget La Villette is close to the Gare du Nord and that allows you excursions through the whole of Paris without a car. You could easily walk by foot to the next Station and use the public transportation for s few euros. The rooms are clean, quite and comfortable with a shower and WC. The reception is available... The hotel is easily accessible from Jaures and Laumiere metro stations. The rooms and okay and so is the location of the hotel. One thing that let us down was the breakfast. It did not offer much. This is something that needs improvement. Overall the stay is fine considering the rates that are offered. An average experience compared to other... More

Comfy, minimalist, got everything you need, near a metro, makes a real effort to be environmentally friendly which I love, city tax is a bit annoying, but that'll be the same anywhere in paris, will probably be heading back here soon, best you can get for the money, good for young couples on a budget!

Staying in La Villette

Neighborhood Profile
La Villette
This futuristic landscape has come to define the northeast of Paris. The Saint-Denis canal is framed with luscious lawns and metallic buildings over a wide-open space. Home to Europe's largest science museum, this area rewards daytime and nighttime explorations; there are three concert spaces, plus cinemas and bars, and even open-air cinema in the summer. The surrounding homes are a sharp contrast to the futuristic space. Though on the outskirts of Paris, La Villette is worth the short Metro ride from the center.
