We booked at Solar Hotel, but we have been located in its annexe (Lionceau Hotel), very close (50meters) from the main one. We found the room, towel and sheets clean as well as the bed comfortable. No complaint for us, except for a little of wet smell from toilet of room 20. But the staff is very kind and we... More

This is the annexe of the Solar Hotel: see its separate entry. Despite some of the reviews below I found that the room was clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Although it was on a commercial street I only had problems with noise once early on Wednesday morning when the dustmen came, but that can happen anywhere. The... More

I went to Le lionceau with my wife for 1 week. We had a very nice stay. Our room was on a third floor by stairs, with window to the street. No front desk at the entrance. Very nice paintings on the walls. For any help one had to go to the main building around the block. But we just... More

Before you read, you have to know we've travelled around the world and our standards for sleeping are really really lower than most people. A clean bed and bathroom is the only thing we cannot pass on though. We experienced the Lionceau annex and it was terrible. The most awful hotel I've ever been in. The odor gave us nausea... More

First, I should say that we originally booked our room for 4 nights through the Hotel Des Voyageurs (located on Rue Boulard) website, but when we arrived, they claimed that another part of the hotel (an annex), located around the corner in a different building, was where our room was. It had a different name, but they claimed it had... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
