I have spent 3 nights in this hotel which I think is very nicely decorated. The breakfast room is placed In front of a charming courtyard. The service is very good including clean rooms, well informed receptionist and professional staff. I will definitely come there again.

Booked first, saw the reviews after, and they are unfair. This is Paris, so stars do not reflect what you find elsewhere and this only merits two. The entrance hall is quite smart, as is the breakfast area that looks out onto a quiet courtyard. Pity the rest does not get the same degree of attention. The rooms are small... More

Four days away with my two girls, I saw the reviews before I booked and felt that because of the location I felt I could overlook the possibility of a shabby room. Which I did, Both rooms were small but adequate for what we needed, clean and warm. We were in room 12, which was on the first floor at... More

I stayed at this hotel for a week for sightseeing in Paris. This hotel was awful. The staff were so passive and dismissive that they came off as very rude. I felt that they cared nothing about my stay there. The room itself was extremely small and out-of-date. There were not many amenities and the sleeping conditions were average at... More

We stayed 2 nights in room17. This is one of the traditional, hotel rooms at the front of the hotel. Yes the door was ill fitting to the bathroom and the room was well used but laminate flooring was fitted so the floor felt nice. The bed was massive and clean and the bathroom though used was spotlessly clean. For a... More

We thought it was our lucky day when we were upgraded to a courtyard suite at the back. The rack rate on the back of the door was 1500 Euros! The upstairs rooms had a bath (no plug), weak air-con and was well decorated; the double sofa bed comfy and perfectly adequate for our teenage son. The location is fantastic... More

A great location for a weekend getaway. I wouldn't want to stay there for a week or longer though. Very basic, but with clean bedding and well connected for the metro. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

We lived in the room on the last floor. It was nice but too small. The design is poor and the professional photos do not correspond the reality. But the view was typically french, the breakfast was typically french, and we liked it. The guy on the reception (I do not remember his name, but he was with mustache and... More

We were fortunate to get this place as there was a large conference in Paris at the time and accomodation was scarce. For a budget hotel you get what you pay for. Although outdated, the hotel is presentable. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Room was small but clean. Bedding was fine, aircon and tv worked. Old bathroom but it... More

Where do I start, this hotel is worse than the happy ending motels. The curtains and bed covers had blood stains. The beds are like 20 yrs old. The walls are dirty and there is mold in the shower. The hallways are like dirty-smelly tunnels. The management and some of the staff were super rude (more than normal for French... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
