The staff is the unhappiest people that I have encountered in Paris. It is amazing they are in the hospitality business. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and it is either we or the luggage that goes to the floor where the room was since it was a dumbwaiter lift. Room for triple pax was big, with the single bed... More

We stayed here prior to our wedding and loved it. The rooms were small and comfortable, the breakfast was good, the staff were exceptional. A very, very good time and a very lovely little hotel. We want to go back to Paris someday and hope to stay here again.... Loved our room as it had all the old beams exposed... More

I agree that the location is excellent, very close to the Pantheon and the Luxembourg Gardens, and a nice stroll to Notre Dame. We walked to the river Seine almost every day and from there either walked more or took buses or metro to get to some nearby museums (Louvre, Musee d'Orsay). It is on a quiet street, too, and... the hotel location is ideal for visiting the pantheon, notra Dame and the itallian quater however it does have some negative points. the staff were unfriendly, on arrival greated we were with "whats your name", the room keys put on counter with a "room 26", no other communication. cockroaches scurried away when we put the lights on at the bottom... This hotel has a perfect location close to the Panthéon. It is set on a quiet back street that I've seen used as a background in romantic movies, and it is indeed very pittoresque. However, the interior is quite dark and especially the rooms could do with a splash of paint and maybe change of carpets. The staff are helpful,... More

This is a great little hotel of the sort that is disappearing too fast to be replaced by hideous hotel chains or by "renovated" boutique hotels. I' ve stayed at Senlis five or six times over the last decade and found it always to remain the same. It's very clean the people behind the desk are helpful but not sycophantic,... More

The only positive thing about this hotel is its location: 15 minutes walk from Notre Dame and 5 minutes away from the RER B metro station. Maybe we've been just unlucky, but our room was dusty, the carpet old and stained, the red bed cover also stained, and the springs in the center of the mattress were so worn-out that... More

The location of the hotel is great, close to quite a few touristic spots such as Notre Dame and the Sorbonne as well as quite a major metro line which covers the airports and Château de Versailles. The hotel and our room were clean but quite old and ran down. The street the hotel is on is very noisy and... More

I had stayed at the de Senlis in 2002 and rembered it as adequate. It still is! The location in the Latin quarter is great. I also took the RER B line to Luxembourg metro stop direct from terminal 2 at Charles de Gaulle airport for 9.75 Euros. The hotel is about 7 blocks from the stop so it was... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
