We stayed 5 nights in November 2008 and paid $62 Euro for a room with an ensuite bathroom. It's clean and the bed is comfortable and there's hot water, so I don't think you could find many better budget options for Paris. The location is convenient next to two train stations, and there's a grocery store and bakery super close... more
interestingly this little 1 star hotel situated near to a Metro - Republique has very friendly staffs but a very mean Boss !!! The Boss refused to provide hot water even though he was very free and as there was supposed to be free internet access at the counter, he limited my use to 2 mins ! the speed was... more
It's your typical basic cheap hotel. It is a 1 star hotel and some rooms are without toilet and/or shower. It's about 5 min walk from the metro. If you are not too fussy about appearance, this hotel is an ok place to sleep for a cheap price. The lights in the shared toilet only opens when you lock the... more
We stayed here for four nights in September after trying to make a booking at a number of other hotels, but finding places were booked up weeks in advance. The hotel is well situated - close to Republique and Oberkampt metro stations, and very convenient for the great bars and restaurants around Oberkampf and JP Thimbaud street. It's an easy... more
We found this through the Rick Steves Paris book about Paris, and I was immediately drawn to it because of the resident cats in the lobby. Unfortunately, they were booked up the first 2 nights of our trip so we had to book a room elsewhere. After the dirty, dark, toilet-down-the-stairs place we stayed at, Hotel de Nevers seemed like... more
The room was on the first floor, shower on the fourth floor. The shower was by far the smallest we saw in our three weeks in europe, and that's saying a lot and was filthy. The door would not lock to the shower. The bed was rock hard and had one pillow, 1.5 meters long. Being on the street, had... more
I stayed at the Hotel de Nevers (on Rue de Malte...be careful, there are two different Hotel de Nevers in Paris) back in November 2007. This was my first visit to Paris on a pretty limited budget, and the Hotel de Nevers provided a good, safe, and conveniently located budget option for my stay. I had originally heard about the... more
Very clean room, my wife checks hotel rooms for a living and she couldn't fault it. It is just off the main road to Pere Lachaise cemetery (Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde) and the metro stations Republic and Oberkampf are nearby. The breakfast room fills up quickly but you can call reception and have it in your room. more
Stayed here for 2 nights in late November 2007. If you're on a budget, or prefer to spend your money in one of Paris's many shops, this is the place for you. Clean, friendly staff, the room was ok (double bed with bathroom) and most of all a great price. Sure, it won't win any awards for mod-cons (no TV... more
