We stayed here over New Year and had a few minor problems within are stay but found the staff were very helpful and friendly, apart from one. 1) We came back about 1am and had to ring the buzzer to get into the hotel, but there was no answer, eventually after a few minutes and a few more rings on... We stayed for 1 night whilst going to a concert at the Cigale which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The location is great, near the metro station and walking distance from the Gare De Nore (with a good map). The room and shared toilet were very clean. Our room was at the rear at there was little... I stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 nights - we were looking for somewhere we could use as a base while we explored Paris. For that purpose the hotel was great - its really basic but the 24 hour reception staff were friendly and really helpful when I unfortunately had my bag stolen and had to go to the... More

Stayed there with my wife for a 60th birthday treat. We were looking for something cheap n cheerful but totally Paris, so I overlooked some of the negative reviews and just focussed on the positives. What a mistake! The nights were warm but the room was unbearably hot and airless. It was impossible to try to sleep with the window... More

A good deal for cheap solo traveller. Not the place to stay for romance or the elderly as it does feel cheap and there are many narrow stairs up to the rooms (no elevator). Beds comfy and 24hr front desk add security. Also note trip advisor had the wrong address for the place, real location just next to the red... More

Basic hotel but for a very reasonable price. The location is also unparalleled, since it's in the centre of Montmartre, incredibly close to the Sacre Coeur and just opposite the metro. The staff were pleasant and helpful and available when needed. Ideal for budget travellers.

My sister and I stayed at Montpellier for 2 nights in July '14 and we found our experience was more than satisfactory. No, it's not the Ritz, but for what you pay and assuming you are going to spent the majority of your time exploring Paris as opposed to sitting in your hotel room it's good for the price. The... Nice staff, but the premisies need some updating. They used that strong smelling detergent (perhaps to overpower the smell of mould) that I had to sleep window open. No elevator.Location is very near to metro and Montmarte.

I stayed at this hotel in July for one week. I was using the communal restroom and was locked inside because the door knob fell off. I was stuck there for approximately half an hour. The bed was small, fortunately the shower was right across the hall. There is no air conditioner and they lack an elevator. Some of the... More

Stayed there with my wife on 12 and 13 September. We paid 60 Euros a night. There were 1 set of towels that was dirty, torn bed covers, and a shower that my wife was afraid to use. That is despite the room was paid for 2 people. The toilet was in the other side of the corridor BUT had... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
