I stayed at Hotel Max with my daughter for two days. Because they were fully booked for our remaining stay, we switched to their sister Hotel Fred for the last two days, which is only 10 minutes from Hotel Max by feet. We loved the design throughout the hotel. Great art and design books in the lobby, nespresso machine in... More

The Max Hotel is conveniently conveniently located to the major sights of Paris, yet just outside the main touristed areas so you can feel like a local. This small, design hotel is easy to find, and is only steps from the metro or a short taxi from Orly airport. The rooms have a contemporary design, clean and comfortable, but quite... More

We stayed at the Max for 7 nights. Because the hotel was completely booked when we arrived, we spent the first night in Room 2, which, unfortunately, opens right onto the lobby, but, for the rest of our stay we had a much larger and better located room on a higher floor. Throughout our stay, the staff was very friendly... More

Beautiful and charming hotel in Alesia. Away for the crowded, noisy and more touristy areas of Paris and surrounded by lovely bakeries, little shops and bistros. A short walk from Rue Daguerre, a vibrant and surprising little back street with food stalls, sea food, boutiques, book shops and antiques totally worth a visit. We stayed in a small room with... Awesome location. Surrounded by cafes and different shops. Very close to the metro. Small rooms may not be suitable for very tall people. Friendly staff and modern decor. Loved that it is not surrounded by tourists.

A small but comfortable hotel in a residential area of Paris near the international university. As the room was very small, it is more suited to short stays. There are good restaurants in the area as well as a large park with walkways.

A lovely small, friendly hotel - good to see the same staff every day, who were also very nice. Good use of a small space, stylish room with plenty of power points. Only one criticism, no obvious place to dry your towel so I needed fresh towels each day otherwise they'd be damp.

3 nights in October visiting our daughter in Paris. Our room was larger than standard and worth it. Staff were superb - friendly, helpful, excellent english. Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We had a fairly large, recently renovated, room with a comfortable bed. Location is good in a residental area with several nice restaurants, bars and bistros. Close to metro. Nespresso machine was a bonus. The only negative was a poorly ventilated bathroom a safebox that was not attached at all.

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
