I have absolutely enjoyed the two-night stay in this hotel, the third floor room we were in was spacious (for Parisian standards), trendy, neat, and most importantly - quiet. The hotel is a 3-5 minute walk from Alesia metro station (and from there you can get quickly to anywhere in Paris, thanks to super effective metro system). The room was... More

Great little hotel, with easy access from Metro (Alesia). Not long ago modernised in a contemporary chic style. Rooms aren't huge, but are comfortable. Mine had a lovely balcony on the top floor, at the quieter, rear of the building; ideal for a solo traveller but might be a bit cramped for two. Very charming and efficient welcome from the... More

We have lived and worked in Paris and also spent months in the city as tourists and have stayed in many different arrondissements over the years. This weekend at Max Hotel in the 14th was by far the highlight! We already knew the neighborhood was ideal, namely, not too touristy but with proximity to the tourist metro lines 4 and... More

Stayed here on a business trip which we extended to include a weekend break in Paris, and were really happy with our choice. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming from the outset (including a nervous phone call from the airport about a late arrival after our plane was delayed), and were really helpful throughout our stay. The hotel... More

Stayed at Max Hotel for two nights, and it was ideal. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the location was very convenient, only a short walk from Alèsia metro station. Room was clean and reasonably spacious, with a comfy bed and excellent amenities. Highly recommend!

Arrived late and had mistakenly booked for the following week; the man on reception couldn't have been more helpful - he even lent us a charger for my daughter's phone. The room was lovely - modern, exceptionally clean and air-con that worked a treat. Fantastic shower, Nespresso coffee machine, and dark curtains that ensured a lie-in the next day. Would... More

We returned after a great visit last year. Still very good indeed and we'll return again. Nice rooms, friendly staff, easy for transport links to the centre, and lots of restaurants in the vicinity (we travelled a couple of metro stops one night). Recommended again.

The rooms are typical Paris side (small). However, the room and bathroom are modern. The staff during the day are sooo helpful and sweet. I really enjoyed my stay - was there for a little over a week. The downside is - it isn't walking distance to all the tourist sites. The metro and bus are close by, so getting... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
