Again found this hotel through tripadvisor having a very good rating at very reasonable prices. So I booked the hotel through their website just 2 days before my planned arrivel. The special "last minute" rates did not apply, dont know why, so I booked at the published price a Standard Double room. As always, location is a main factor for... More

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in mid May and loved our visit. We arrived by car, double parked out front of the hotel (garage parking is nearby) and were warmly greeted by the young owner, Jean Marc. He immediately set our minds at ease, carried our bags into the hotel, watched the car for us as we got... More

The Hotel du College de France lives up to all the good reviews it receives. My wife and I stayed there for 5 nights last month, and were completely satisfied. It is a charming, small, family run hotel. The owner, Mr. Marc was at the front desk nearly every day. So was Mr. Sadr, who has worked at the hotel... More

Just back from a few days at the Hotel du College du France and it does deserve all the plaudits it receives. It is a simple hotel - those looking for marble and gilt luxury, in- house restaurants or or masses of space should look elsewhere - but is clean (the bathroom was sparkling which is something I find important... We stayed at this hotel for one night on our honeymoon after another hotel in Paris was a disappointment. We were so pleased with the kind and helpful staff. Our room was clean and newly updated, and we had a large balcony overlooking the city. This hotel would definitely be our first choice upon returning to Paris!

When we found another great airfare deal to Paris, we knew we had to stay here again. We stayed in the 6th floor room 63. I loved that we had a view outside. We had a bit of warm weather in March and were able to enjoy a breeze when we opened the windows. The hotel had been upgraded since... More

We stayed at this hotel for one week in April/May 2007. This hotel is in a wonderful location in the Latin quarter, and the service is fantastic. Room 23 is just what I thought a Paris hotel would be like, lace curtains, french doors and a little balcony with table and 2 chairs. The ensuite was a good size and... More

My husband and I have always stayed at the Minerve (6 times). I read about this hotel and we decided to give it a try. This place is terrific!! I loved the location. It was not on a busy street so we found it quiet. The staff are so accomodating and friendly. We were fortunate to book early and had... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
