The hotel is nicely located on a small side street in the Quartier Latin district. We chose the hotel because of the outstanding reviews it has received. We didn't want any fancy hotel but just a place to sleep after spending a long day walking around the city. And from this point of view this the hotel was a very... More

We spent 3 nights in this small Parisian hotel in November. Its location is wonderful--in the Latin Quarter but far enough from the tourist traffic. Nice restaurants were in the area. The rooms in the hotel are small with dated furniture, but everything is very clean and functions well. The bed was quite comfortable. We ate breakfast at the hotel,... More

Hotel: -Helpful receptionist, always there all the time. -Easy & quick check in & out. -Really small elevator but very useful. I stayed here for a week in mid August 2014 before travelling south. A very personable small hotel, very parisian french feel in a great location. I had a balcony room on the 2nd floor (23 I think) with a wonderful view of the street looking up to the Sorbonne. Very clean and well maintained. They were refurbishing the back... More

My husband and I love this hotel. It is clean, friendly, and a great location, just a couple blocks from the Sorbonne. The price is good for Paris. The carpet and furniture is well used, but we don't expect luxury, just a clean, decent place to stay. The beds are clean and comfortable. The usual city noise, but I bring... More

Nice little boutique hotel very convienently located in the latin quarter. Not a lot of money and very centrally located of where we wanted to be . The staff was very nice. Exceptionally nice was Marc and Sadr. The supporting staff was very friendly but I didn't get a chance to get their names.

Couldn't fault the location of this hotel. Short walk to Notre Dame and Ile Saint-Louis. The Metro is close by but we ended up wandering and coming across somelovely areas to stop for coffee etc. Despite being so close to the busy Boulevard St Germain we found it very quiet, comfortable and slept well. Our room had a tiny balcony... More

I want to state up front that my husband and I are NOT picky travelers. We basically just want a clean, quiet hotel to anchor in since we typically spend very little time in our room. While the location of this hotel is excellent, there are several reasons why we would not return - too many reasons to go into... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a second time. As a matter of fact we requested room #33 for sentimental reasons which they held for us. As usual our stay was great due to Monsieur Marc and his entire staff of Monsieur SantaAna, Monsieur Sadr, Bastien and hotel staff of Lidija, Melanie, Gordana and Choiuchou. The hotel... More

HCF is my "home away from home" in Paris. I've been staying at the hotel every year since 1998. The location is perfect (near the Sorbonne), and the rooms are cheery, clean and comfortable. Everyone at the hotel is super-friendly and helpful. You can even arrange to be picked up at the airport. Metro Maubert-Mutualite is nearby, and Boulevard St.... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
