5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

We spent 2 night here in late June. We have 10 year old twins. They enjoyed the spiral stairs, and TINY 3 person (?) elevator. We were on the 6th floor. Staff was VERY friendly. Price was fair for services. Rooms were nice and quiet, even with winds open. Walked to Eiffel Tower, Notre dame, Louvre, Pantheon, and fun back... More

As is common with most small, old hotels in great European cities, the rooms are rather small but tolerable and clean. The staff is helpful. Location is fantastic, right in the midst of the Latin quarters and a short walk (<3 min) from Jardin du Luxembourg, Pantheon and the Marie Curie Museum. If you are a visitor to the universities... I wasn't looking for the most luxurious hotel in Paris, just one that I wouldn't have to think about. That is, where the bathroom was clean and not cramped and not older than me, where the bed was good and the linens clean. And that's exactly what I got. That it was under 150euro per night, made it great. The... More

This hotel is difficult to review because I want to be fair to the efforts of the staff whilst I was there. If I start with the positives these were: fantastic location - this hotel is right by the Pantheon, a short walk to the Jardin Du Luxembourg and Notre Dame. It is in a quiet side street which is... This is very good choice for those who are looking for a place to crush for a night and then get back to sightseeing. The location is great. It is located in Latin quarter, very close to Luxembourg garden and Pantheon, and working distance from Notre Dame de Paris. Importantly, it is very close to RER station (line B), meaning... More

The location of this hotel, around the corner from Luxembourg station and close to the Pantheon and the Sorbonne, is excellent, but as a place to stay it leaves much to be desired. Even for a short stay - ours was for two nights - it is nice to have somewhere to put clothes, but our room had no wardrobe... More

Hotel du Bresil absolutely exceeded our expectations! I mean, for such a SMALL price that we paid, in such super CONVENIENT location - it was just perfect! Yes, elevator is microscopic and rooms are so as well. But honestly - do I come to Paris to stay in the room (or elevator?)? :) Everything was perfect - clean, good shower... More

My wife and I stayed here recently. Small room but good value and convenient location. Nice cafés and bars. About a 10 minute walk to notre dame, an hour walk to the Eiffel Tower. Parking on the street takes some searching but was free on the weekend.

Stayed here for two nights with two friends. Our room for three people had a smallish double bed and two single beds. It was just enough room for the three of us. It had a good shower (basic but powerful) and a new TV. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Storage was limited but fine if just... More

The hotel is in an excellent location for an excellent price! Facilities are very basic, rooms are super tiny. However, it is clean and cosy. Finding an affordable hotel in central Paris is quite a challenge, so if you are more for the location and not for fanciness, this is the hotel for you!

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
