We had a family stay over the weekend and really enjoyed it. The rooms were plenty big enough for two with the single beds and we had great views of the hustle and bustle of the bars, restaurants and cafes from our fourth floor window. it was only two minutes walk to a Metro station and about ten minutes walk... Business trip for one night....front desk attended by 2 young inattentive women who did not offer smiles nor very helpful information when asked basic questions. Lobby is ok, no security on elevator which is about 5 steps from front door on very busy small street with lots of restaurants. Close to Monparnasse station and Edgar Quinet. Only amenities in the... We spent 6 nights at this hotel and were very satisfied with all that it offers. It is close to the Montparnasse train station, metro and taxi stand. A good choice of restaurants and creperies are at a stones throw and the main tourist sights are within walking distance (30-45min walk) enabling you to explore Paris to and from each... More

We spent 5 nights at this hotel and were extremely satisfied with all that it offers. The location is great, conveniently located next to the Montparnasse train station and in easy walking distance of many restaurants and sights. The area has an arty vibe and boasts many quaint and unusual shops and markets on the weekend. The nearby Montparnasse Plaza... More

I've waited a while to post this, mainly because I hoped to have heard from Mercure that this property has had its security updated and improved. So far nothing. When we were there, there were no secondary locks - merely the regular handle lock which opens with a key card. While I'm sure this is normally not an issue, when... More

Having toured Rome and The Vatican City, my wife and I returned to Paris on 12th of October 2014 and checked into Hotel ibis Gare Montparnasse 15th. But there was an oversight on our part. We did not make a booking in advance for the number of days we would stay at ibis so we were notified that we could... More

Great location that is conveniently located to Montparnasse train station as well as 4 Metro lines. St. Germain is about a 15 minute walk away. The hotel is always clean with good complimentary Wi-Fi. Emphasis on BASIC, clean comfortable bed, small bathroom but does what it should! I have stayed here numerous times and have had different room configurations. You will... More

I recognize that someone from the states may have high expectations when it comes to accommodations. Fortunately I've done quite a bit of traveling in Europe and have learned to manage my expectations. With that said, this hotel came as a bit of a disappointment. The lobby was nice enough (but aren't they all), but the room was lacking in... More

We were very pleased with this hotel. We had a room with a fold-out sofa bed for our two children, which folded out to two single beds. There was plenty of space, and the room was clean and tidy, with all the facilities needed (plenty of sockets, a mini-bar, safe, and wardrobe space). The shower-room (with walk-in shower) was spacious... More

I've stayed in hotel for 5 nights during business trip in December 2014. Quick check-in and friendly staff, clean and quite spacious room (for Paris) promises to be a nice starter. Hotel is located very close to Gare Montparnasse and main metro lines. Near the hotel are many restaurants, many of them are Japoneze, for some reasons, however there's a... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
