I've stopped off at this hotel on business at least on three occasions now. It's in a good area with loads to do in the evening. The surrounding area is really busy on an evening with many cafes, bars and restaurants and theatres. It's really bustling. Hotel itself is clean, rooms an acceptable size and bathrooms ok. Bed is good... More

The hotel is located in a surprisingly nice area (considering that railway stations don't always have a great reputation). The street is animated and there are plenty of nice bears, cafe's and restaurants around. The hotel itself shows some signs of wear but all the amenities work fine and the personnel is helpful and nice. It was a warm part... More

We spent 6 nights at Mercure hotel on our trip to Paris. The location is great with access to 3 metro stations all within 3-5 mins walk. Montparnasse station, which provides access to various suburban routes is 3 mins away. We took a train to Versailles from Montparnasse station. All paris attractions are within 15 mins train rides. Bascillica of... More

This is a very basic Mercure. We had a standard room in the roof (6th floor). Very clean. View from skylight window over neighbouring roofs. Our double bed was fine. Coffee/tea facilities provided with paper cups only. "Roll-in" shower allowed the water to spray out onto bathroom floor. It was very inexpensive through a special deal with Expedia. Reception staff... More

This Mercure is ideally located in the heart of Montparnasse, close to Gaiete and Montparnasse metro stations and the Montparnasse railway station. In addition the RER station at Denfert Rochereau with its direct line to CDG airport is fifteen minutes walk away. The hotel is smart and well appointed and boasts a bistro with an excellent menu and wine selection.... More

We had a family stay over the weekend and really enjoyed it. The rooms were plenty big enough for two with the single beds and we had great views of the hustle and bustle of the bars, restaurants and cafes from our fourth floor window. it was only two minutes walk to a Metro station and about ten minutes walk... Business trip for one night....front desk attended by 2 young inattentive women who did not offer smiles nor very helpful information when asked basic questions. Lobby is ok, no security on elevator which is about 5 steps from front door on very busy small street with lots of restaurants. Close to Monparnasse station and Edgar Quinet. Only amenities in the... We spent 6 nights at this hotel and were very satisfied with all that it offers. It is close to the Montparnasse train station, metro and taxi stand. A good choice of restaurants and creperies are at a stones throw and the main tourist sights are within walking distance (30-45min walk) enabling you to explore Paris to and from each... More

We spent 5 nights at this hotel and were extremely satisfied with all that it offers. The location is great, conveniently located next to the Montparnasse train station and in easy walking distance of many restaurants and sights. The area has an arty vibe and boasts many quaint and unusual shops and markets on the weekend. The nearby Montparnasse Plaza... More

I've waited a while to post this, mainly because I hoped to have heard from Mercure that this property has had its security updated and improved. So far nothing. When we were there, there were no secondary locks - merely the regular handle lock which opens with a key card. While I'm sure this is normally not an issue, when... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
