Having toured Rome are The Vatican City, my wife and I returned to Paris on 12th of October 2014 and checked into Hotel ibis Gare Montparnasse 15th. But there was an oversight on our part. We did not make a booking in advance for the number of days we would stay at ibis so we were notified that we could... More

The rooms are small and spartan. There is no space to put your toiletry kit in the bathroom. rediculos amenity kit. The hotel only offers a couple of soap bars and a bath gel/ shampoo in a large dispenser attached to the wall. No conditioner or shower cap. Cleaning is average. Carpet is actually dirty. The lobby is modern and... More

Good hotel, well situated for exploring Paris. Our room on the 6th floor was a decent size with a good bathroom although the shower temperature was not easy to control. We didn't eat in the hotel as you can get a decent breakfast in any number of the cafes along the street. The location is very good, situated close to... More

The hotel is well located near the Gare Montparnasse and various Metro stations. There are heaps of restaurants, bars and a couple of good supermarkets nearby as well. The hotel rooms are a reasonable size and even though our 3rd floor room faced the courtyard of the theatre next door there was very little noise. The bathroom was spacious. Breakfast... More

The hotel is very near the Gare Montparnasse and other public transport. Check-in was fast. Our room was a nice size, the bathroom was well-appointed. As a differently-abled person, I did not have a hard time getting in and out of the shower area. Breakfast buffet was okay, but not that many choices. Was disappointed, though, about the lack of... This was our second stay since 2012 and it’s regrettable to see how much the hotel has fallen in providing amenities to its guests. The hotel used to provide separate bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and moisturizing cream, but this was all replaced by a big tube of multipurpose cleansing gel. It does all right as a body wash... More

Family of 4, first stay in paris. Booked into room 205 which I felt was big enough for us as only there to sleep in as seeing all the sights. Great location close to metro probably 3 min walk away. Quickest check in ever. Although they knew 2 adults and 2 kids it was only made up for two. Asked... More

This hotel has rates of a 5-star palace (250€ in average) and rooms of a motel. My room was small, without a proper desk, and in terrible condition. The bathroom was full of moisture from the walls to the door. The curtains had holes in them and the furniture had spills on it. Breakfast was decent but the restaurant has... More

This was our first trip to Paris, so we have no basis for comparison to other rooms in that area - just hotels in the US and approximately 12 other European hotels. The room was a bit small, but not uncomfortably so. Our room was booked as part of a GoAhead Tour and was not selected by us. We had... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
