Location - Just off a quiet area of boulevards, restaurants and shops. Anything you might want as a base within a couple of minutes. Walk 20 mins South and you reach the Seine. This hotel is at the North edge of the Marais district which is one of the most interesting areas in the city. There are plenty of old... More

My friend and I came to Paris, as a surprise for my Birthday and it's been wonderful. This hotel is perfectly located in a quite road just 5 mins from Republica metro line and that makes getting around so easy. The hotel and staff have been nothing short of awesome, all so helpful and welcoming. They all have smiles that... More

Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Modern and close to two metro stations. No tea and coffee facilities in the room. I was charged "room service" for asking for tea. When I complained on check out the staff didn't really care. It was not explained to me I would be charged for tepid water and a Tea bag. Probably would... More

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel! It is small and charming in a great location. The rooms were modern and very clean- same with the bathroom. Much nicer than many of the travelers photos that were online. The hotel staff was also very helpful.

This is a very nice boutique hotel. I stayed there for two nights for tourism. The room and the common areas were tastefully decorated, modern and clean. Just like you see in the photos. The hotel is located only a couple of minutes away from the place de la republique, where many major metro lines converge, and so we had... More

Hotel is close to republique metro which has lots of lines stopping there. Lots of restaurants and bars in close proximity and the hotel is in a quiet street so a good nights sleep is guaranteed. Hotel rooms are not that big but I believe that is not unusual for paris but they are modern, clean and well designed and... More

Our stay at the Mareuil was quite interesting. The neighbourhood (Republique) previously feared as not shady proved to be a positive surprise. A new hip neighbourhood in the making. Lots of good / trendy-new-chefs restaurant all around the hotel. Location is great - walking distance from le marais, etc. Hotel staff was very pleasant and the room very well decorated.... More

..so we didn't get an upgrade! 2 nights in a standard room, small but normal by Parisian standards. Good quality fixtures & fittings, comfortable bed, good wifi. Didn't use any hotel facililties so our experience was basically room only. Not quite sure how it achieves a 4 star rating, maybe it's the spa. Located well for metro & Gare du... More

Lovely Belinda at reception gave us a 'double upgrade' as she called it, because it was our anniversary, which was a bonus. Room 63 is spacious and has 3 balconies. The bed is very comfy, the rain shower is great and there are coffee and tea facilities in the room. The gym is small but good for a short break.... More

Wonderful hotel in a lovely neighborhood. Great value for money for a 4 star hotel. Modern finishes, lovely bed and shower. Staff very helpful. Don't take the breakfast, better places 20m away from hotel. Close to repubique and oberkampf metros. Many trendy bars and restaurants just around the corner

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
