Firstly the reception staff was very friendly but unfortunately I could not sleep well as the bed springs are broken. It made such a noise at night like a broken guitar. Definitely it needs to be fixed. The breakfast bar was simple. Croissants should be ready and not backing after people arrive. Location was ok as it is closed to... More

I stayed there in new year eve for four nights, the 1st thing about this hotel is the location, just one min to Goncourt Metro Line 11 which can take you to Hotel de ville in 10 min (Central of Paris). It’s 5 min walk to Republique square on your way you can find some good shops. For me I... More

We stayed for 2 nights in November. Very good location, just 3 min walk from metro station and also very close to city center. The room was tiny, really, but it's ok, since we were there just for sleep. You can do a lot of things in Paris and not sit in the hotel's room. The bathroom were shabby, but... More

Friendly staff, good location, very close to goncourt metro station. Room itself was good for the money we've paid, large window and it was warm in December. Convenience store nearby. If Internet connection is important to you, you'll be disappointed. It was very slow, unusable even very early in the morning.

I was in this area of Paris for 2 nights on business and stayed here. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the hotel was reasonably quiet, so sleep quality was good. However, the bathroom looked awful - with a peeling ceiling, stained wall, broke shelf and no shower curtain or screen. The room lacked several of the... More

Very nice welcome at reception and all my stay (3 days) very helpful and friendly staff. Room is small, but for Paris ok, clean. Wallpapers are a bit older (peel off the wall). The walls are "thin", so you can hear noises from outside. Hotel is in a small quiet street, close to the metro station. Just at the corner of... More

At 60 eur per night, it was one of the cheapest places available in inner Paris. Budget family hotels tend to be very dodgy in Paris so I was expecting for the worst. However I was pleasently surprised. - Location is good. Safe (important nowadays in Paris) residential area but steps away from République which is an interesting area by... More

Great find, value for money with great location - close to 2 metro stations, restaurants, bars, and the Canal. We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but functional with confortable beds, and the bathroom was ok (but it could use a shelf and a shower... More

We stayed at Hotel International for 3 nights. Everyone was very helpful and polite and we were allowed to leave our luggage there after having checked out. The room was a bit small but compared to other options it was definitely value for money. The area is very interesting, lots of bars and places to eat and very close to... More

Hotel is very small quarters which is standard for European hotels. Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean. Close to the metro. About a €50 cab ride from the airport. The room is not one to hang out in as there is literally only room for the beds and there is only three outlets in the... More

Staying in Canal Saint-Martin

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Saint-Martin
The tree-lined Canal Saint-Martin is the focal point of one of the most romantic and hip areas of Paris. Watch boats travel along the canal while lovers and friends take in the atmosphere from the banks or the bridges. Evenings see hoards fill the embankments to drink wine and enjoy good company. The colder days lead people to hipster bars, cozy restaurants, and concert spaces. Those who are more adventurous may explore hidden gems down nearby streets, from local bars to futuristic architecture. With its enriching mix of people of all ages and backgrounds, this neighborhood has a dynamic, inspiring vibe.
