Unlike the other reviewers, we were very disapointed (and disgusted) by this hostel. Maybe it has been renovated since we were there, but the website is exactly the same, showing exactly the same pictures of the rooms, so I doubt it. The main problem was the dirtiness of this place. The ensuite bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned.... More

The hostel was quite clean, well-organized and it had a friendly atmosphere. -We booked via fax and when we arrived a very kind girl gave us all the information we needed: fares, rules of the hostel, possibility of leaving our baggage in the luggage room and our valuable things in the safe (for free); she also let us see the... Just spent 5 days in paris (visiting daughter studying there for the spring), stayed at La Maison the entire time. For about 20 Euros/night(3-4 person room), this is a deal that cannot be beat. I stayed here in July 2000. Really, really nice. The staff were polite and helpful. There is a kitchen that guests can use - even better, as there is a supermarket almost opposite the hostel.
