Pretty good for a hostel! I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and they even gave me a free drink card upon arrival (so- I might as well add that the bar has a good vibe and I had a lot of fun!). The rooms are as basic as you expect but not over crowded like you get at many budget hostels.... More

We arrived at La Village Hostel from Gare du Nord And we were surprised to say the least when we entered the building. .. We had never been to stay in a place quite like it before. .. The decor was scary and the loud music off putting. We were handed our sheets in a bag which was another first... More

I tried booking at this hostel for 5 nights in May 2015. Before booking, I had trouble interpreting their online booking system (they claimed they offered a discount for multiple nights but I couldn't see it) so I emailed them specifying what room I was looking for and for which nights, hoping they could book it for me. Instead I... More

The location is good. it's literally 2 minutes away from the sacre coeur and 2 minutes in the opposite direction to the nearest metro station (Anvers). The hostel itself is relatively basic, however, i did like how each room had their own toilet and shower. Upon my arrival i was also given a voucher for a free beer and shot... More

Nice enough hostel. Super friendly staff who are willing and helpful. Nice little terrace area for when its sunny which is a bonus. Neighbourhood is a little dodgy for a single female traveller in the dark so keep an eye on that. But very close to a metro station so you can't get lost! Also within walking distance of Gare... I stayed here in May 2015 and found it to be a very friendly, conveniently located hostel just below Sacre Coeur. Although the directions that the hostel gave were not the best, I was happy when I finally got there. Every morning, there's an included breakfast of croissants, cereal, bread, coffee, OJ, tea, and sometimes cereal and yogurt. The rooms... More

We stayed here in April with a group of friends. The place is really almost next to Sacre du Cour and close to Garde du Nord. The neighborhood is not very nice, be aware of the people trying to sell you stolen goods or drugs! Once you walk some blocks the area is nicer. We arrived here and the staff... More

Stayed here 2 nights in April and returning in May for longer stay. The friendly, happy staff is always available to help. The good energy/upbeat spirit of the reception area good place to meet other travelers and makes solo travel not lonely travel. Enjoyed the view from outside terrace and very relaxing at end of busy day. Great to have... More

Good atmosphere, clean room and bathroom, near sacre cour and a couple metro stations. Little toiletries were provided and a yummy sizable breakfast of cereal, oj, croissants, tea and coffee is included. It can be a little loud from the street and bar below, as well as if you have noisy neighbors, so Id advise bringing ear plugs. Otherwise cute... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
