Found the staff at the hostel to be very welcoming with 24/7 staffing. The location was great - only a stones throw from the Sacre Coeur and amongst the excitement of the Montmatre district. Being a lone ranger on this trip - I was happy sharing a room with 7 others and was also fantastic (socially) after a day touring... More

Great, clean hostel with easy access to the subway. Hostel is quite secure, with 24-7 staffing at the desk monitoring the door. The room I was in was a 4 person mixed gender room, and it had its own water closet and shower. The breakfast that is served is very light - croissants, juice/coffee/tea are about the extent of what... More

My room was nice, comfortable, and clean. I was very happy that there was an AC unit there, too! The location of the hostel is really great, as it's just a block away from the Anvers metro stop, so it's easy to get anywhere from there. The hostel's terrace was a great place to relax and meet new people, and... More

We stayed in Paris for two nights and fell in love with the city. The location is easy enough to get to by the metro. And is close to the moulin rouge and the sacre coeur. Look out for pick pocketers though, I had various people near the sacre coeur come over and try and look in my bag. And... More

Very well located place, few steps from sacré coeur, clean and welcoming. I would stay again in the future and recommend the place to other travellers on lower budget. Dorms are airconditioned and well cleaned.

I would not hesitate to stay in this hostel again. My first night was solo and I was in a large room, lockers provided to lock up your important things and everything was clean. My friend arrived on the second night and we were upgrade to a 4 person room from a 10 bed, without even asking. We had it... More

I loved my staying in Le Village Hostel. The rooms are clean and tidy; the staff are ready to help you anytime you need; the pub of the hostel are right at hand, and its clients are pariisians that like to talk to foreign people (what is rare in Paris, sometimes).

Low rating because of safety issue with Start Shuttle, an airport shuttle service that the front desk recommended. My sister & I had an early flight so the driver picked us up before 5 a.m. He then drove to a hotel to pick up another traveler, parked in an alley, & went inside, leaving my sister and I alone in... The hostel is a 3 minute walk from a metro. The rooms were modern and clean. There was a big terrace. Breakfast consisted of baguette, croissants, jams, butter, juice and coffee. I really enjoyed the fact that we received a free welcome shot and beer at the bar. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The only downside to... More

The hostel is in the Montmarte district (think Moulin Rouge / Sacre Couer area) So a ttle way from the centre of Paris, but is very, very close to train stations so this isn't a problem. The hostel itself is small and a touch run down, but don't hold that against it. The positives for me...Staff very friendly and speak... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
