We stayed 4 nights in the Hotel Marignan in the Latin quarter in Paris. This hotel is in a fantastic location, only minutes from the Avenue Saint Germain, in the heart of Paris. The hotel is located on a quiet street but only minutes from all the amenities, shops, restaurants, patisseries, metro, rer, all within walking distance. The hotel itself... More

Hotel is right in the middle of the Latin quarters, just minutes walk from Notre Dame and easy access via RER train from the CDG airport, metro stops near as well. Nearby plenty of restaurants,... Quite clean and friendly surrounding, safe environment. Other guests in this hotel is also fine. I like the French feeling breakfast and warm service. Will definitely visit again when visiting Paris next time.

The hotel is very clean, has extremely comfortable beds, offers a lovely breakfast for free, is in a great location, has a washer and dryer offered free for guest use, offers unusually good wi-fi, and is staffed by warm and friendly people. The owner understands that he is in the "hospitality" business and is as hospitable as it comes--he is... More

The hotel has 6 floors and does not have a lift! But the staff were cheerful and friendly, the costs was reasonable for a central Paris location and breakfast was OK. My room was in the roof ... but was recently renovated. Arriving late can be a problem as there are no staff on duty late (after 22.00) Generally value... More

You can't beat the location (we took the RER B from Charles de Gaulle airport to the Notre Dame station and it was a 10 minute was from the station), plus a lovely breakfast and friendly staff (recommended a great place for dinner). Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
