The folks here at Hotel Marignan are really, truly fantastic. The hotel has a great history (writers of significance have stayed here, just ask!), and it's family owned, with pride. The location is seriously unbeatable. Seriously. The metro is steps away, RER B, too. Notre Dame and Ile de France are right there, a nice little market right around the... More

this is my third time to this fun and funky old style Paris Hotel. wonderfully convenient in the Latin Quarter but on a nice quiet street. easy access to the Metro, near Notre Dame, the Sorbonne etc. The owner Roland and his staff are welcoming and go over the top to be accomodating and helpful. wonderful continental breakfast is included.... Easy to access. Easy to stay in. Very good location in the best parts of Paris. Budget alternative, but with private toalet and bathroom, it you paid for it ! Room full of beds, no place to open suitcase, but that is Paris! I know! The balcony was a bonus!

If you like having a great stay in Paris feeling at your home with a reasonable price, you would choose this lovely hotel. It's location is great as you can access bus and metro station in less than 100 meters. Staffs are very friendly and supportive, beds are great and rooms are very clean. There is no useless luxury facilities... More

We have come to this hotel each of our four stays in Paris over the last 25 years. Location is wonderful--in Latin Quarter, not far from Notre Dame de Paris and accessible to the Paris Metro. The staff is friendly and helpful and while not the fanciest place, you are made to feel comfortable and enjoy your stay in Paris.... More

Returning from a trip to Germany, we needed to fly from Paris. Searching for a place to stay, few places could accommadate a family of five in one room. For this reason, we ended up at the Marignan. I am so glad we did!! The location is EXCELLENT within walking distance of everything we wanted to see (The Louvre, the... More

Perfect localization, between Avenue Montaigne and Champs Elysees. Decoration is modern, but full of violet colour everywhere (colour which I don't like at all for decoration), also in heavy curtáins and draperies. Staff is nice and rooms are spacious and comfortable. Restaurant is an edgy place filled in the evenings for dinner or cocktails.

Excellent Location. Basic clean rooms. Really friendly staff, good breakfast. Washing clothes option is wonderful. Great Paris book loan library. Monsieur Roland runs an efficient hotel is SO knowledgeable. Must be able to climb spiral staircase, so have small suitcase & make your needs known beforehand when booking. We were two 68 yr olds & a 21 yr old so 108... More

Husband, three teenagers and myself stayed in room for 5. Beds were seriously wall-to-wall. No space to walk, stand, sit, put suitcases. Sort of funny, actually. Expensive considering tiny room with no space. But great location - quiet and safe. Nice staff. Great breakfast - croissants, cheese, coffee, hot chocolate.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
