I really love this hotel. It's amazing, specially the employees. The localization and the neighborhood are okay too. I went there two times and i don't regret it. The price is good and Montmartre has everything you need.

This is not a chi-chi Paris hotel, but it's perfect for a budget traveller. The location is great; it's not in the heart of Monmartre, but you're within easy walking distance. There are metro stations close by. We didn't eat breakfast there, but there are plenty of different restaurants and bars within a few blocks. The room was basic but... More

Location: hotel was very close tometro station and bus stop. Also had many restaurants and bars nearby. Location was good. @hotel: staff was friendly. Hotel rooms were small. Breakfast had not much options. They did not clean the room for our 3 days stay at hotel. Wifi was available only at reception area Good for small stay or budget vacation... More

We discovered mold in the bathroom and sleepingroom, so the air quality was very bad. We had a room towards the street. Sleeping was not possible because of the noise coming up from the street through the old broken windows. The carpet and bedspread were broken and very dirty. The furniture in the bathroom was totally damaged and had Water... More

We needed a place to stay for the night at the 18th arrondisement where we can securely park our car and Booking.com offered a good last minute deal for Hotel Modern. The room was very modest in size but not suffocatingly small. It was very basic but very clean. We didn't need much more than that as we arrived late... More

A pretty grim, cheerless place - claustrophobic, in a bad state of repair, with poor sound insulation between rooms, no wi-fi on my storey and serving the most unappetising breakfast I've ever eaten in Paris. On the credit side it was clean and the bed I had was comfortable. All the same, if you are coming here on holiday you... More

I did like our room -- looked out over the street with a little bar below. The staff was helpful and I was able to get the room I requested at a lower level because there is no elevator/lift and we had heavy bags! It got noisy a little at night but it was kind of fun --- we were... More

Stayed here for 3 nights on a spontaneous trip to Paris. We booked accommodation the morning of our first night stay. We were worried there may be a mix up etc as it was such short notice. But everything was organised and reception was open all evening which was reassuring. Location of hotel was amazing!! Easy access to area with... More

I stayed here for a 8 nights in April 2014 in a single room on a first floor. The location is absolutely perfect: 45 sec to the nearest sport bar, 4 min to Moulin Rouge and night club, 50 min to Louvre, 15 min to grand Opera.(a bit noisy during the night) Monoprix shop is just on a parallel street.g wardrobe(fits... We booked a room there in May, and on arrival discovered that the hotel was overbooked!!! We were offered a room at their "sister" hotel, which quite honestly was a dump!!! The room there hadn't been used in at least 6 months!!! I doubt if even French husbands would use it for illicit affairs!!!!! There was a smell of damp... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
