This hotel is cheap for Paris city center (less then 100 euro a night), but it provies VERY poor services. Rooms are too small, it has even no space to open bags. Rooms are not clean. Hotel has no elevator. Colored staff is friendly, but the only one white french reseptionist is very rough. He is the real boor. He... More

The staff are very rude and unpleasant.. The rooms are NOT the ones in the pictures.. Very disgusting hotel.. Breakfast consisted of bread and nasty coffee! There is no parking anywhere close! Save your money and stay else where!!

I stayed there because there wasn't much available at that time of the year. It's an OK hotel. Nothing spectacular. Small rooms, very small hallways, steep stairways, that make it almost impossible to climb up to your room with a big luggage. Like most European small hotels, there's no elevator. They say they have free wifi, but it never worked... More

Fine location but poor rooms. There was NONE electrical outlet in the room and the only one was in the bathroom. The wather wasn't warm but lukewarm. Rooms stink of cigarettes.

This hotel is a great place to go with friends. The hotel itself is not luxurious in any way - in fact it's quite old and a bit shabby, but it is clean and most of the staff is friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is the best part - it is very close to Place de la... More

A bit of a rabbit warren, a bit shabby with dirty covers on the beds but if you don't mind that it's in a good location near some interesting streets, the staff were OK if not entirely truthful and there's a free computer in reception for booking your onward hotels. My wife thought it was terrible but I've stayed in... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
