The Hotel purported to be a 3 star hotel. Whoever gave it 3 stars has a very low idea of quality. The website is very misleading with some very clever photography it shows the reception and misiscule lounge as very contemporary but thats where it stops. As soon as you climb the stairs you are greeted with something out of... More

The hotel is close to the Metro station 'Grand Boulevard' and is ideally located for all the places of interest, which are a few train stops away. The popular restaurant 'Chartier' has long queues in the evenings but the food is at affordable prices and the restaurant has a pleasant ambiance. The passenger lift is unusually small and can be... Friendly hotel in the middle of the opera district. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast is continental style but magnificent - everything you would hope for and more, all freshly prepared and regularly topped up. Our room was on the second floor and was large for a French hotel with a corner bath as a bonus. The bed was... More

Utterly disappointed. We took advantage of a deal with 'short breaks' this included eurostar from st. Pancras to Gare du nord, 2 nights in hotel axel opera, which was said to be in the city centre, a trip on the river seine and eurostar back to London. On arriving at the hotel, we were told where our room was, not... More

Lovely friendly hotel, they do a very nice breakfast, either proper French or cornflakes and milk. Free coffee any time of day and night. It is possible to get back to the hotel from the bar next door!!

The hotel was cozy and close to the metro! A lot of little stores nearby so it is very convenient. The breakfast buffet had the basics: crossaints, baguettes, cereal, yogurt, etc. The only downside was there was a lot of construction going on nearby and they started around 7:30AM so I would make sure to check with the hotel to... I am coming onto my 400th review and I have decided that it's time to raise the bar and produce a higher standard of work. I will give the standard comments about the everyday features of whatever it is I am reviewing, and then follow that by an IN DEPTH feature reflecting on the not so obvious points, lessons to... Good little hotel in an excellent location, with plenty of restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood. Our duplex was spacious enough with a nice balcony to sit and relax. It is true the lift is small, though big enough for 3 persons and very amusing. The breakfast was ok and sufficient. There were some renovation works on the lower floors... More

Everything about the hotel was just fine. Room, location, staff, price... A couple of negative things, though: the lift was incredibly small (it only allowed two people in) and the breakfast buffet was not very varied, although we found it satisfying as in our case it was included in the price. In sum, a very good hotel. If I ever... More

From looking at the website the rooms looked spacious, clean and fairly modern. We weren't expecting to spend much time in the room, so that was all I was looking for. On arrival the front of house staff was having a screaming match with a customer who was checking out (after overcharging her they couldn't refund her until next week).... More

Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. I am surprised to read your comment. I am every day of the week in reception and was not aware of such an accident in our hotel. Also, I do not recognize the description you make of our rooms and our team. I invite you to contact me directly so that you give... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
