I had a huge red-wine stain on my white dress shirt. Luckily the night porter found some washing powder so I could clean it at 1 AM. Friendly service! The room was a little noisy from neighbouring rooms, and I could not connect through a secure VPN over the otherwise free wifi.

That was the second stay for me in this hotel. Still very clean rooms, very helpful and polite front office staff, a lot of restaurants and cafes around the hotel, good connections to transport system with metro

Ideal hotel for taking in the sights of Paris and enjoying the local cafes and bistros. Clean and tidy, package came with continental breakfast and afternoon coffee and cake. Good value and highly recommended.

We chose to stay at the Hotel Axel Opera because it's in a great area - easy walk to the Opera House, the Grevin Wax Museum and there are loads of fabulous small restaurants, both ethnic and French within the immediate area and in the surrounding 10-15 minutes on foot. The metro stop Grand Boulevards is just 2-3 minutes on... More

I've just spent 2 nights at the hotel Axel Opera and couldn't fault it. The room was small but really clean, very comfortable beds and efficient shower! The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring Paris. I will definitely be back!

We visited Paris and used this hotel. It takes 15 min to walk to the Louvre so we hardly used the subway/Metro. The hotel is clean. Beds are hard but ok. Shower clean but not a little bit dated. We booked the breakfast which was of great quality (for France). Only remark is the hotel being a little noisy (noise... More

We booked one of the two duplex family rooms, on the 6th floor. It was very adequate for all our needs. The hotel provided a travel cot for our son. The upstairs room was superior to the lower level, where the bathroom was situated. There was a balcony which was nice. The bathroom was a little tired but functional. We... More

We spent two nights in this hotel to semi-recover from jet lag before embarking on a bike tour south of Paris. Our room faced an interior courtyard and so was very quiet. It was a good size by Parisian standards and very clean. The bathroom was modern with plenty of hot water. The WiFi worked well. The front desk staff... More

I have read a lot of reviews on this hotel and after staying there myself, I would like to add to it. Some points: I read a lot of reviews regarding the small lift, it is small but who cares? You're not living in the lift so as long as it takes you from A to B, it's all good.... More

Pros: The neighborhood is amazing. There are tons of shops and restaurants around the area and multiple metro stations are just short walks away. Takes only about 20 mins (includes both the time to walk + to travel in the metro) to get to major tourist attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Louvre and the great shopping area... Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
