The web site gives a great impression, but when you arrive you feel that the place lacks a soul. The rooms are very simple and not in great condition, furnished in a very 'poor' way. No closet. The bathroom is better. Some windows don't close so you sleep the whole night with the window open. The stairs are very tight.... More

Really enjoyed our 4 days here. The room/suite was large, comfortable and contemporary with lovely artwork and lighting. Breakfasts were a great joy with fresh, quality ingredients and enjoyable chats with our host, Hubert, who practiced his English whilst I practiced my French. This chambre d'hôte in the 19th arrondissement is well-located with good metro/bus links to central Paris and... More

Just got back from a 4 night stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. The room was large and clean, the location perfect - 3 minutes away from Jourdain Metro which gets you anywhere very easily. There's not masses to do in Jourdain itself although it does have lovely boulangeries, cheese shops and so on. But it's so... More

I loved the room, it was spacious and interesting, much better than a sterile hotel room. I loved how clean everything was including the impeccable bathroom. I loved Couleur's location in an interesting area where everyday Parisians go about their daily activities and I could watch and learn. I loved the breakfasts, which were generous and high quality. And of... More

Smashing little B&B. Used it twice to set off across Europe and return. Nice quiet area away from the city centre but good Metro links so not far away. Notre Dame 20mins,Louvre 20mins and Eiffel Tower 40mins. Rooms are basic but comfortable and have all the facilities you need for a city sightseeing stay. Local pub/restaurant recommended is L'Escargot turning... More

My husband and I were pleased we found this little place, as it felt comfortable and welcoming, at the same time offering all you would expect by way of standards (well equipped, clean, spacious). Our host was charming and very helpful, being prepared to give the personal time and effort that is often lacking in larger hotels. 'Couleurs' has a... More

We had the pleasure of staying at this bed and breakfast for 4 nights earlier this month. It is well situated, just a short walk to the nearest metro station. Our room was spacious, cleans and modern. The breakfast was lovely, fresh and plentiful. Our hosts were helpful, friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighborhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
