Went with a friend to Paris and needed a cheap overnight hotel. They had booked here and after reading the reviews I was very doubtful. However the location is great, the room was small but OK. The room needed some TLC but the bed was comfy the sheets new, the water hot and the breakfast well worth 7 euros. They... More

I booked this hotel because of the relative good reviews. I was though very disappointed when I arrived in my very small and smelly room. Luckily we only had 3 nights. The surrounding area was though very nice and the metro is 5 min. away. To be honest, I will not stay at this hotel again. I was obviously fooled... More

Hotel Clauzel is a bit tatty, granted. Like most Paris hotels in that price range (which means "cheap" by Paris standards). Perhaps not all rooms have been upgraded but some are certainly luminous, comfortable (excellent bed, towels and shower), and the staff is nice enough. The lift is tiny like in most hotels of that category so nothing wrong with... More

Took a look at the pics, they suggested it was quite modern, in reality it looks like it was last renovated 30 years ago, stinks like a zoo, on the plus side the bathroom was a lot better than the journey in the lift led me to believe, when I eventually got a useable connection on the free wifi, I... I went to Paris last week and stayed at this hotel. I booked two nights and didn't even sleep the first night. It was terrible. Firstly I dropped my stuff off and felt it was basic, but a good place to sleep and a good area. However, when I got home that night I found bed bugs coming out of... More

Avoid this hotel at least for the coming months. The location is indeed good for enjoying montmartre, pigalle, close distance to the subway and good business and food in the hotel street. Everything was there to get a good weekend in Paris. But after checking in we realised that the hotel was under heavy renovation and reception did not give any... More

Very good location with many restaurants and stores near by, also on the same street there is a supermarket! The breakfast costs 7? and it was good enough(you could refail your plate as many times as you like+orange juice+milk+coffee maschine). Our room(4th floor) was clean but the doors and windows needed to be fixed because they didn't close good enough, so... More

Ok so i've checked out right now and i'm staying at the reception cause i have like 2 more hours till my train comes. The hotel is pretty close to musée du louvre, sacre coeur and moulin rouge. It's pretty central, but the elevator is for only one person. When i walked inside the room, i said to my friend... More

I recently stayed at Hotel Clauzel for 3 nights with 2 other people. We had a triple room (1 double bed and 1 twin bed). I was a little worried before arriving at the hotel, as it was a budget hotel with a decent amount of not so great reviews. When we arrived we were given a room on the... More

Rue des Matyrs is a great location for a mini break - it is in genuine walking distance of the shopping at Galleries Lafayette and Printemps etc, as well as being a fantastic little street in its own right with an abundance of quality patisseries, eateries and specialist shops like fromageries and chocolatiers. The staff at the hotel were friendly... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
