The location is really great..within walking distance to St Georges and Galleries Lafayette. Many type of cuisine around the area and near to morning market, super market, convenient stores and cafes.

They are rude. Breakfast always closed. Wifi not working in rooms. Got locked in bathroom. Did not explain anything. Creepy. Music playing till 4;00 in we hours. The only good thing is restaurants couple stores down. Bikers loud at night. Wanted to ask questions no smiles. Creepy trust me go somewhere else you want to enjoy Paris.

Tiny, sparse hotel room with the best view of Sacre Couer. It's in the 9th arrondissement on a great lively street. Lots of restaurants, bars, pastry shops and stores (1 grocery store). Five minute walk to metro stop Notre Dame du Lorette. We walked from Gare du Nord when we arrived- 15 minute walk. Breakfast cost extra. For 7 Euros... More

Everything about this hotel is bad. Its not close to any metro station and rooms are terrible. There are other better options available. I left this hotel and found a much better one right across the street.

Four people, three nights and five different rooms. Bed bugs (or similar) and both me and my daughter were bitten. We have a feeling that they didn't care. First night we complained and got a new room. Second night they had never heard about bed bugs ever in the hotel... Would not recommend!

Went with a friend to Paris and needed a cheap overnight hotel. They had booked here and after reading the reviews I was very doubtful. However the location is great, the room was small but OK. The room needed some TLC but the bed was comfy the sheets new, the water hot and the breakfast well worth 7 euros. They... More

I booked this hotel because of the relative good reviews. I was though very disappointed when I arrived in my very small and smelly room. Luckily we only had 3 nights. The surrounding area was though very nice and the metro is 5 min. away. To be honest, I will not stay at this hotel again. I was obviously fooled... More

Hotel Clauzel is a bit tatty, granted. Like most Paris hotels in that price range (which means "cheap" by Paris standards). Perhaps not all rooms have been upgraded but some are certainly luminous, comfortable (excellent bed, towels and shower), and the staff is nice enough. The lift is tiny like in most hotels of that category so nothing wrong with... More

Took a look at the pics, they suggested it was quite modern, in reality it looks like it was last renovated 30 years ago, stinks like a zoo, on the plus side the bathroom was a lot better than the journey in the lift led me to believe, when I eventually got a useable connection on the free wifi, I... I went to Paris last week and stayed at this hotel. I booked two nights and didn't even sleep the first night. It was terrible. Firstly I dropped my stuff off and felt it was basic, but a good place to sleep and a good area. However, when I got home that night I found bed bugs coming out of... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
