This hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the Pigalle Metro, turn left at Bistro Cockney. Although in the red light district and a couple of minutes walk to the Moulin Rouge was very pleasant. Breakfast was fine. The Hotel is a short distance from the famous Sacre Coeur.

This is a very lovely small hotel in Paris. I really loved the style and the staff is very nice and helpful, especially the older gentleman at reception. We had an early flight on the day of the departure and he even gave us breakfast around 5 am... :) We had the absinthe tasting experience included as well, it was... More

I felt like I stepped back in time and when I walked in the Hotel Royal Fromentin and tried the absinthe experience. The hosts were very welcoming and show me how to drink this historical drink and let me peruse through a book detailing the history of Absinthe. Although, the drink is purported to be quite intoxicating, I didn't find... More

Very clean Hotel and very very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are very small but that is typical for Paris. I have traveled to Paris many times and this is my first experience with Royal Hotel. Hotel is located almost right next to Arc De Triomphe so everything in area was about double what you would pay in other parts... More

Located in the Moulin Rouge area.Very quaint hotel. Continental breakfast was 10 euro per person. Staff were very helpful. Hotel walls are very thin, you can hear your neighbor's conversations especially if they are loud. At two in the mirning you ciukd hear people yelling and screaming outside. The elevator is small only you and your bag can fit at... More

The Hotel Royal Fromentin is akin to a minor royal fallen on hard times. She then meats a wealthy nouveau riche suitor who invests cash; yet does nothing to restore the old beauty, he simply tarts her up. It's a decent hotel in the middle of north-central Paris right next to the Moulin Rouge, a ton of sex shops and... More

I have read some other reviews and surely they should have read about the area before booking. As a single female I had absolutely no problems staying in this part of Paris and not only was it a cheap place to stay but clean and good size rooms. The staff were very helpful and the only issue I had really... More

This is by no means, a 3 star hotel, more like 1! If you have kids, please beware, this is in the red district, sex shops and nude bars are just a few doors! Also it is very loud and wild at night, drunks screaming and fighting and prostitution everywhere!!, When we asked to cancel our 2 out of our... More

We found the rooms clean and the hotel staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great and so was the lady serving it. If you want value for money and to be less than 5 minutes walk from two metro stations, then this is the place for you. It is in the middle of the red light district but if you... More

I was disappointed with my stay at hotel. Although the room was small which is typical of France the furnishings were seriously outdated. It would make a big difference if the bedding, bedroom furnishing, and the small antiquated TV was updated, the lack thereof made the Hotel stay painful. Although they provided free breakfast it was a continental breakfast consisting... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
