I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights, breakfast included. Ok, it's in the Red Zone, but it was so cool and also very near to Montmartre, my favorite in Paris. The room was on the high floor, so from the balcony we could see the Sacre Cour! The breakfast was very french, with fresh litte baguettes, butter, jams and... More

Hotel itself is quirky, love the foyer interior decor and the old fashioned lift the whole place has a lovely feel to it. Room on 1st floor was small and basic but clean and comfortable. Only disappointment is no kettle and hot drink facilities. Staff were great, always recommending local attractions and happy to give us buckets of ice to... More

Just stayed in the hotel very recently. Overall very good. While the building was awaiting some renovation it was nonetheless clean and well maintained. The rooms were clean and cozy. The front desk service was very friendly and was always happy to guide us to the city's attractions and points of interest. Plenty of information available here. Yes, the chatter... More

Dear Santiago, I would like to thank you for sharing the most objective comment I have read on my hotel. It is true that we have a renovation project on the hotel for 2016 but until then we do our best to provide our guest with the best service we can. Regarding the area I would like to add that... The hotels location is amazing, central for everything, 2 minutes from either pigalle or blanche, and 2 minutes from the moulin rouge. A great atmosphere in the surroundings. Yes it is in the middle of the red light area (felt safe enough to us) and this made or trip way more exciting! The hotel staff were great, the view from... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Fromentin, however given that this was our first time in Paris we were a bit disappointed with the location. This has nothing to do with the hotel mind you, it's just that it's located in the middle of Paris' red light district (Moulin Rouge). Streets and surrounding areas are filthy and homeless families... More

This hotel was rather disappointing, while close to both the moulin rouge and the sacre coeur, it lacked in other areas. The hotel's decor was dated, attempting to appear historical. It lacked a safe for valuables as well having as no air conditioning. It could be noisy at night also. While, it was kept very clean, the customer service of... More

Dear Ashley, first I want to thank you for taking the time to share your opinion on our establishment. Our hotel is effectively perfectly positioned in the north of Paris : at 100 meters from the Moulin Rouge, 5-10 min walk from Montmartre, 10-15 min walk Galeries Lafayette and 2 min walk from Pigalle metro station. This is a lovely traditional french hotel, room was excellent on the sixth floor overlooking a beautiful cathedral. Lovely big bath which was lacking from the previous days hotels. The area is shall we say ! Lively ! and if you like sex shops you'll be spoilt for choice. Pigalle is Not really suited to families with small children as... More

Dear Dan, I am very proud to hear that your stay in our hotel was one of the best you had in France. The beautiful Cathedral you saw from your window was the Sacré-Coeur, emblematic chruch in Paris. You are right it is a very popular area with many restaurants and bars around. As you said there are some adults... More

We were supposed to stay somewhere else, and were obviously annoyed to be shuffled to this hotel, Not the fault of these guys. Off the main road, former cabaret spot, 100 metres from Pigalle station. 10 mins by Metro to the Arc. Well, most hotels in Paris are bound to be noisy, I guess. But this was very noisy most of the night x 3 nights; the drawback of pre-payment. Late bars nearby, boy-racers riding suped-up sewing machines at full revs when they... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
