This hotel was rather disappointing, while close to both the moulin rouge and the sacre coeur, it lacked in other areas. The hotel's decor was dated, attempting to appear historical. It lacked a safe for valuables as well having as no air conditioning. It could be noisy at night also. While, it was kept very clean, the customer service of... More

Dear Ashley, first I want to thank you for taking the time to share your opinion on our establishment. Our hotel is effectively perfectly positioned in the north of Paris : at 100 meters from the Moulin Rouge, 5-10 min walk from Montmartre, 10-15 min walk Galeries Lafayette and 2 min walk from Pigalle metro station. I wish to inform... More

This is a lovely traditional french hotel, room was excellent on the sixth floor overlooking a beautiful cathedral. Lovely big bath which was lacking from the previous days hotels. The area is shall we say ! Lively ! and if you like sex shops you'll be spoilt for choice. Pigalle is Not really suited to families with small children as... More

Dear Dan, I am very proud to hear that your stay in our hotel was one of the best you had in France. The beautiful Cathedral you saw from your window was the Sacré-Coeur, emblematic chruch in Paris. You are right it is a very popular area with many restaurants and bars around. As you said there are some adults... More

We were supposed to stay somewhere else, and were obviously annoyed to be shuffled to this hotel, Not the fault of these guys. The South African Gentleman was very kind and put us in a lovely room in the top of the hotel with great views of sacre - cour and the Eiffel Tower. Resulting in 2 happy bunnies. The... More

Off the main road, former cabaret spot, 100 metres from Pigalle station. 10 mins by Metro to the Arc. Well, most hotels in Paris are bound to be noisy, I guess. But this was very noisy most of the night x 3 nights; the drawback of pre-payment. Late bars nearby, boy-racers riding suped-up sewing machines at full revs when they... More

Dear PaulSamps, It is nice to see that you enjoyed the location. As you said the hotel is very convenient to reach most of the Parisian attractions (Champs Elysées, Montmartre, Museums...) and very close to the Moulin Rouge Cabaret. I was sorry to hear that you have been annoyed by the noise despite the double glazing. You should have informed... More

First the not so good: it is not located on the best neighborhood in Paris (near the Moulin Rouge with several sex shops and adult shows nearby) so if you plan a trip with kids better think of somewhere else. Now the good, the hotel is conveniently located with several metro stations to choose as close as 100 meters. Also... More

Dear JEFurlan, It's a pleasure to read your comment that is so true about the hotel and the staff! I will only add that the area is part of the ambiance and is more folkloric than anything. Besides if our customers don't want to see the Boulevard Clichy and his typical shops, it takes only to turn right instead of... More

Cool hotel, used to be a cabaret, well decorated, clean and with friendly staff. Small room but confy, bathroom is very small, bit annoying. Close to sacre couer and lafayete gallery, the montmartre neighborhood is pleasant but the hotel region is surronded by sex shops, it seemed not safe by night.

Dear Elison, Thank you for sharing your experience. It is nice to hear that you found the hotel clean and staff friendly, I will share that with my collaborators. It is true that the hotel is in Pigalle area but you shouldn't be too worried about safety as this is more folkloric than anything. It is part of the history... More

Stayed here for a few days to use as a base whilst checking the sights We booked the absinthe experience (I would suggest you don't need to do this as it is, basically, someone pouring you a glass whilst telling you stuff that comes in a brochure) There is only breakfast served but this isn't a problem as Montmatre is... Dear Redditch, It's a pleasure to read that you have been satisfied with your stay and most particularly by our staff friendliness. I would say that trying the Absinthe is a part of the experience at the Royal Fromentin as it was the place where Toulouse Lautrec used to come to drink some. It helps to understand the history of... Great place to go to if you want a decent place to stay. It is in the old red light district not recommended if you are a single lady. Must be back at the hotel by 11:00pm otherwise it is not save to be out. Great staff, clean rooms, great price for location. The only thing that I can complain... More

This hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the Pigalle Metro, turn left at Bistro Cockney. Although in the red light district and a couple of minutes walk to the Moulin Rouge was very pleasant. Breakfast was fine. The Hotel is a short distance from the famous Sacre Coeur.

This is a very lovely small hotel in Paris. I really loved the style and the staff is very nice and helpful, especially the older gentleman at reception. Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
