The people have been relatively friendly considering the language barrier. The hotel appears clean but is very very old. Beds are tiny, basically a mattress on the floor. We stayed one night, before moving to an apartment we rented for a week. The hotel is quite spartan, with few ammenities. It was clean and relatively quiet. The breakfast was simple but adequate. We stopped here for the absinthe service, which had been recomended. The hotel bar was an elegant, cozy place to hang out and the hotel itself was a nice escape from Pigalle. The bartender was pleasant, and we had fun trying this unusual drink. More

Located just off Rue de Steinkerque, it it very to the nightclubs, theatres, and music venues (such as the Boule Noir and Elysee Montmartre) of the area. Just spent the weekend at the Royal Fromentin. Exactly what we expected. Hotel clean and staff pleasant. Breakfast was good - great coffee. Central location between Blanch and Pigalle Metro stations for easy access to rest of the city. Area as described - a bit tacky but not threatening - even at night.
