At the last minute we were able to find a cool room at this charming hotel. Friendly front desk helped us book an airport shuttle, and they hold on to your key so you won't lose it. Simple rooms small but adequate in size. Wonderful shower, plush robes, slippers, and toiletries. Centrally located in San Michael region. Beautifully decorated rooms... More

This is the Oldest building ive ever slept in! Beautiful bed linen, comfortable beds, original wooden beams, huge, in the bathroom. Rooms are small, but comfortable. Situated on the left bank, its a 3min walk to Notre Dame Cathedral, 20min stroll to the Louvre! 10min walk to Musee D'orcy. Not too far in a cab to shopping. This hotel is... More

This hotel is conveniently located on the "left bank" a few minutes walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral. Slightly outside the more noisy Rue De L'Harpe tourist area means a more quiet stay although the rooms in this hotel are quite small (but this is common in Paris). Staff were helpful and spoke good English - breakfasts were an expensive... More

It has been 5 years since my last stay at the Vieux Paris -- and the hotel is still going strong. Madame Claude continues to run a great team: they are all helpful for making restaurant reservations, planning your sightseeing in Paris, or getting tickets for a museum or a local classical concert. The hotel is on a small quiet... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days. Reception were very helpful with directions and with booking things like taxis and shows. They spoke English which really helped as our french wasn't very good. The breakfast was yum also. Room was beautiful with its matching material walls and curtains so pretty. We would certainly stay again.

Wonderful hotel for our first two nights in Paris after flying from California. We had a bigger room #47 that allowed us to camp out and decompress. Very easy walking distance to many sights. We walked all the way to L'Arc du Triomphe an Eifel Tower and back one day. Louvre, Notre Dame, Metro, etc. all at your footsteps. Our... More

I was in Paris with my wife last week (4-6th May)for my birthday. I did a hotel search the week before (as you do) but I STOPPED when I found The Relais! I travel a lot but this hotel really hit the spot, full of character, rooms superb, other reviewers have said it all but I'll add a comment or... More

The location on the left bank is excellent. The accommodation, a suite, was well decorated, furnished, comfortable, and VERY quiet. The room rate was somewhat overpriced and the breakfast was not worth the investment. We would stay here again.

Relais Hôtel du Vieux Paris is in the 6th arrondissement, very close to Place Saint Michel. It is hard to imagine a better area in which to stay. The hotel is only about 30m from the Seine Left Bank. It is an easy walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, the Marais or Luxembourg Gardens. The metro station is... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
