I've stayed at the New Hotel on rue St-Quentin for 2 nights after reading the trip advisor review from previous post- In general, the hotel is clean, convenient, safe, and cheap considering Paris standard. Its extremely convenient if you are taking the Euro train as its just 1 minute walk from Gare du Nord Train Station. The hotel is also...

opposite the main interchange in paris - garu du nord.
well NEW HOTEL aint NEW. lousy and small room. windows seems to give way anytime. when night falls, better be indoor as beggers will be around on the street, unsafe.
small lift (max 4 people ; try squeezing in luggage!?)
lots of food chains nearby, supermarket too

I had seen mixed reviews of this hotel, with some saying it's OK, others saying it's crappy. I dont know what got into me, but I booked this place through expedia. It was my first trip to Paris, and I had planned one day trip to Mont-St-Michel by train, so I booked this hotel thinking it would be close to...

I was only here for one night and it will be my last time. I have asked our travel agency to take it off the list. It is simply not acceptable for business travel. Fine if you are a backpacker going in the cheap (except that it is not cheap) as it is at that level, but for business and...

This is ideally situated for Eurostar visits as bags can be dumped and not dragged across Paris before sightseeing. Hotel seemed good value for Paris and was clean with a very comfortable bed. It is not high luxury, but it is very convenient for sightseeing and walking distance of very good non touristy bistros on banks of canal and streets near...

We chose this hotel purely for the location directly opposite Gare Du Nord as we arrived and departed by train. Location was perfect for us as buses and trains go in all directions from Gare Du Nord so great for sightseeing.
Very small rooms and it was a bit warm as there was no air-conditioning, but not a big problem....

People at the reception were very friendly. There is free wifi throughout the hotel. It is right across the street from Gare du Nord which is great. Breakfast is sober but OK for 7,50. Rooms are very small and noisy. There is a small elevator, but it ends halfway a stair, really strange. There was mildew on the bathroom door.

The staff was great, have nothing to point there, but unfortunately the hotel's facilities were a bit old. To be fair, they were remodeling the interior, which didn't grant many points in that end. Hopefully, once they finish the work it will be better. Our room smelled of tabacco smoke, which remained throughout our visit, even after leaving the windows...

Don't let the New in the name fool you,It's not, although it does appear to be having a facelift in the reception.
What it is is cheap (by Paris standards) and well located.
Just yards from the Gare du Nord and it's metro stations as well as a number of eateries of varying price if you don't fancy going to far...
