The other reviews are correct- this hotel is located in the seediest of seedy areas. Porn shops, sex shows, pickpockets, and punks everywhere. My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and during those three nights I was followeed once and almost pickpocketed. While the actual hotel was ok, becuase of its location I would not recommend... more

Second time we have been at the Villa Royale - and it's still great value for money. If this hotel was in the Marais or St Germain, it would be double the price. It's location overlooking la Place Pigalle is the reason you can get such great deals, but the area was no bother to us whatsoever. Sure, you are... more

Embracing the sexy, sultry and seductive sides of Montmartre's personality, the Villa Royale is a typical small Parisian hotel whose design focuses on deep and rich colors, soft and fuzzy bedding and intimate cozy corridors. Each room is named after a famed character in Parisian history. Upon entering, a small comfortable waiting area. Several meters down the hall, at the... more

Stayed at the Villa Royale for 3 nights just before Easter weekend on an Expedia City Break. We were assured by previous reviews that, despite the Red Light District location of the hotel, the area was perfectly safe. They were all true, the hotel is on the way to the Moulin Rouge past some seedy sex shops and clubs but... more

The hotel is adorable the waitstaff are friendly and accomodating and your room is a velvet oasis in Paris. The Pigalle metro station is just outside of the door and will get you anywhere you need to go. We never felt unsafe in the area and any noice that filtered through the double paned glass was not objectionable, it is... more

A great hotel in an ideal location for exploring Paris. We had the Leitia Casta room and could lie in bed and gaze up at the Sacre Couer. The room was a little on the small side but wonderfully decorated with an amazing marble and gold bathroom. You should also make sure to check out the artwork painted behind the... more

I stayed here with my Fiance for 2 nights visiting for his Birthyday. The Villa Royale is a very stylish, typically french with big velvet drapes, gold bathroom fittings and beautiful chaise longues! We stayed in the Victor Hugo Room which is on the side of the hotel still had a good view of the hustle and bustle in the... more

Stayed here last weekend for my boyfriend's birthday. I was nervous about booking this hotel, because with the exception of the breakfasts apparently costing an additional €15 and not anything to shout about, the rooms looked fantastic but you just still cannot tell if you're making the right decision. I'm really glad we stayed here. Located a 3 min walk... more

For my 21st Birthday my perfect boyfriend surprised me with a trip of a life time to Paris. Everything was planned out perfectly. He had organised a complete itinerary for the weekend so each day there was a new and exciting surprise round every corner. Including a show at The Moulin Rouge!!!! The room we stayed in at Villa Royale... more

We cannot imagine how this hotel received it's 4 star rating. It is grossly over-priced for the level of comfort and service supplied. Upon arrival you receive no assistance, gain access via a buzzer system, check in and balance your own luggage in the tiny lift. The reception staff are obviously untrained and have no idea how to supply the... more
