Hotel Vivienne is located in a pretty convenient location, where you can get to some famous spots and nice restaurants by walking or by the metro near by(3 mins walk to Grands Boulevards). The room me and my friend had was a bit small, but comfortable enough for a short stay, with a double bed, TV, shower room, tiny closet... More

thank you for your comment. You chose a room without toilets, when you made your reservation, it was clearly stipulated on your booking. you coul the rooms are cleaned eved have chosen a room with toilet! .Be assured the rooms are cleaned every day.it would have been more convenient to tell the reception directly! We stayed here for 2 nights. Room was better then expected. Can't give a real opinion about the lobby because it was under construction. The location is very good and situated about a 15 minute walk from the Louvre. Nice staff aswell. Overall good.

On arrival, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but one of our rooms was not secured after the maid service, so was open to all for most of the day. The receptionist did not seem bothered at all. The heating in our room was unpredictable (either off or on full with nothing in... More

The Hotel Vivienne is perfectly located in the centre of Paris. It is either a walk or short metro ride to, not only key shopping areas, but also to all the cultural and historic highlights of this romantic and vibrant city. Hotel Vivienne is excellent value and I found it to be charming and welcoming. The hotel is clean and... More

Far from the superb looking rooms in the photos, and the stylish reception, we arrived to find the hotel being redecorated, and the reception a building site of bare plaster, hanging plastic sheeting, and exposed wires. The lift was barely big enough to fit a suitcase, let alone the two people with bags who were shoved into it! We had... More

ouch! really not a good review! i'll try and deal with each point you make. the reception area: we last redocorated the reception abot 10 years ago, so it is time to do it again. Fortunatelyit should be finished by mid march.* the lift: yes the lift is small. why were you able to take the lift with your bags... More

We stayed at this hotel for less than an hour. We arrived to building work - the receptionist was unbelievable - she didn't book us in, looked at a list and vaguely agreed we had booked a room, gave us a key and pointed us at the lift! On booking we didn't realise that there was no toilet in the... More

We really enjoyed Hotel Vivienne. We stayed there 4 nights over Christmas. It is very well located in the center of Paris, close to several subway stations, Opera Garner, the Louvre Museum, the "Grands Magasins" (Parisian department stores). We were travelling with our 2 sons (6 & 9) and asked for a family room: we were happily surprised by the... More

Good room, clean, comfortable and cosy. The bathroom is big and clean. Good Location. The staff was very friendly and Helpful. At night we could listen the upstairs neighbor's bed creaking, if you know what I mean. For us it was no problem, but maybe if you go with your family, it could be embarrassing. Oh they have a cat... Excellent location: 20 min walk from the Gare de l'Est and just around the corner from the Théâtre des Variétés, a number of nice bars and the Metro station. Staff is friendly and helpful and SPEAKS ENGLISH! :) The building is old, and it shows: tiny old elevator, crooked stairs, all in all not terribly stylish. Room smelled of lavender... More

Paris was our first stop on our 6 week interrail trip. We arrived at Hotel Vivienne early in the morning after catching an early eurostar. We found the receptionist very helpful on arrival, allowing us to leave our bags so we could go out for the day. When we returned later our bags had been taken to our room and... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
