The central location and exceptional staff is really what made our stay in this hotel so good. It is an easy walk to many attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The staff was very kind and helpful. Cool old building in a great location. Excellent staff. And around the corner from a chocolate store that has 5 flavors of eclairs. Small negatives: the bar downstairs is amazingly overpriced, so go a block or two up rue de Seine, for drinks and breakfast. The laundry 2 blocks up has a $42 minimum, so use the self-wash across the... More

My husband and I needed a place to stay for one night in the 6th while awaiting the arrival of friends with whom we would be sharing an apartment for two weeks. We were very comfortable here and the location couldn't have been better. It is very small, especially by American standards, but clean and tidy. More to the point... More

This hotel is ideally situated for exploring the Quartier Latin - I highly recommend it for a first-time visitor to Paris, especially on a budget. The location is walking distance to so many of the things a first-timer would want to see/do (Notre Dame, Pantheon, Sorbonne, shops/restaurants) and tons of English speakers in the neighborhood. A little "touristy" but that... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
