This place is a really nice hotel and very well located. You can easily walk to many nearby attractions or to a metro station. Couple things they need to improve: 1. WiFi - connection was super slow and disconnected every few minutes. 2. Breakfast was okay but could be much improved. For 12 euro you should get more. Overall it... More

I stayed at this hotel for a gala dinner and was looking for somewhere close to the venue. The hotel is completely overpriced for what it is. To start with the positives, the service (nightporter and reception staff) are amazingly friendly and it is really refreshing. The rooms are average or slightly below average I would stay. Quite dark and... More

We had great 3 night stay at Select. The staff was so helpful with everything, e.g. restaurants, and made the stay very pleasant. The hotel is newly renovated and very nice. Though the rooms a bit small. Location is great and only 2 min to the metro. And lovely cafe's just around it.

We stayed at Select Hotel for 4 nights in November. Room was quite small but very comfortable. I would have liked a real shower but a tub with a handheld nozzle is typical for Paris. The location at la Sorbonne is perfect and centrally located to all the sights. After touring all day the bed and bedding was clean and... More

Booked this based in its pictures and some of the reviews while there is really negative about the hotel I was disappointed. The location is really good and is within easy reach of everything, and good connection between gard du nord and hotel if travelling on eurostar. The entrance to hotel is very nice but I was sadly let down... More

I stayed at Select Hotel for 2 night and it was perfect! Location is great--Close to metro and RER lines making it easy to get to the sights and the meetings I needed to attend around the city. The location at Place de la Sorbonne makes it really close to restaurants and cafe as well! The room and bathroom were... More

I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel during a business trip in Paris, and I really loved it ! It's a design style hotel, the lobby is very well decorated, with a patio. I had a beautiful room overlooking this patio. Room was not big, but it seems to be the case in all Paris, and the design... More

Fantastic location near Sorbonne, This was my second time in this hotel but first with my wife. She insisted to stay in this hotel because i was more than satisfied after my first visit. Staff is superb, always smiling and ready to help. They added much more meals for the breakfast , ambient is great as it used to be,... More

The only pro to this hotel is- its' location- near the Sorbonne/ walking distance to Notre Dame. The elevator is extremely small, I could barely fit myself and my carry-on size luggage inside. Another con was the bathroom, it was very small and the shower consisted of a miniature tub and a hand-held shower head. I ordered room service one night,... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
