This hotel has excellent location: steps from the metro, 15 min walk to Notre Dame, cafes, bakery, supermarket steps away. My room was nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, fair size with a tiny, but well functioning bathroom. Big french doors were facing the street, not too noisy (windows closed). The lift was also tiny, but it always worked. The wifi was... More

We are well acquainted with this little hotel on Rue Monge and it has been updated since our last visit. It is well-located and well-priced for a Latin Quarter hotel. We always ask for the rooms facing the back to open up the large windows and look out at the ancient Roman stadium and enjoy the peace. The updates are... More

We are from the USA and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while visiting Paris. Though it's located on a busy street, I slept well and didn't have any 'noise problems'. The air conditioner did not work and when we inquired we were simply told it didn't work, we had a fan instead. The bathroom was nice with a... More

While we are definitely used to the small size of most European hotel rooms, our room in the Acte V was definitely more cramped than others. Everything was clean, the staff was polite, and the hotel was situated in a great central location. On the plus side, there was also a beautiful balcony in our room.

Rooms in Hotel Acte V are small and really tight. The elevator was the same. Only 2 people can fit without luggage. Despite the lack of space, the room was clean. The pillows were comfortable but the bed was a bit firm. I really liked the French balconette that opens up to rue Monge. The bathroom was clean and lighting... More

This hotel was below average. The air con in our room didnt work, the room is tiny and the bed was very small. The lift was temperamental. The only thing positive i can say about this hotel was the staff were very very nice and helpful. Its close to the Notre Dame and Louvre. If you want comfort, i suggest... More

Good points include a very convenient location (15 minutes walk to Notre Dame, 2 minutes to Metro station), good sized bed and reliable wifi. However, you'll find that the tiny lift is frequently out of service, or just temperamental to the point it may decide not to visit your floor. That's not a problem for the most part, but you... Laying in the latiner part of town, it is easy to walk wherever you want. If you do not want to walk the metro is just around the corner. The hotel is a hotel and that is it. The first night I stayed there the ac did not work so I had to open the window. The street outside was noisy.... More

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and had an OK overall experience. The room I stayed was alright, clean, slightly spacious and a good bathroom. However the air conditioner was barely working, it was in one corner of the room and the cool air doesn't reach your bed, even at max settings. I had to put a table... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
