Just spent 2 nights at Hotel Mayet and I really loved this little hotel. Its location is perfect – in the 6th Arondissment which is smack bang in the classy/Parisian side of Paris – i.e. not many tourists around and lots of very smart shops and cafes. It’s a 2 minute walk to Duroc Metro station and a fifteen minute... More

One of the better hotels I have stayed at in Paris. Lovely location with some cute shops and restaurants nearby. Room was a comfortable size - only small draw back was that the bathroom was tiny and felt like it was in the bedroom. Friendly and helpful staff who made sure our stay was comfortable. Reasonable price too, for location.

We stayed here for five days in October. The room was ultra modern with furnishings to match. It was impressive. The staff were excellent with very good English. When we enquired, one of the staff told us that she learnt her English by watching cartoons on TV. It's a good location here, walking distance to a multitude of restaurants, metro... More

Great clean and modern looking hotel . Small rooms and noisy with doors open but close them and experience instant sound proof ,wonderful. Staff are first rate and helpful, with 24 hr reception. Best mid range hotel in Paris. Very Parisian experience with good sized bathroom. Stayed 4 nights and will return. Location is very central,

I stayed for 2 nights only in this hotel. I arrived a little bit early in the morning around 11 AM, the staff said that there was no room available at that time. He was actually helpful, he offered me the room around 12PM, and only 1 room available at that time on the 1st floor. The room is nice,... More

This hotel is great bc it's: inexpensive for the area, stylish enough; clean; conveniently next to the ducros metro; has great local food shops and restaurants nearby and is a block from the bon marche and a pleasant walk from st germain. It's not too cheesy touristy an area either so you get a nice neighborhood feel. The rooms are... More

We are a middle-aged couple who spent 3 enjoyable nights in Room 11. The room faced the street but because it was August, there was little street noise from the one-block Rue Mayet one floor below, even with a window cracked open. The hotel has modern amenities and the arrangement of the room was well-thought out. We have certainly stayed... More

Stayed here with my husband for one night. Despite turning up at 10am due to a very early flight from the uk we were given a room straight away instead of having to leave our luggage in reception and then come back at 2pm. We were very grateful!! As previous reviewers have mentioned, the rooms are small (not unusual in... More

Rooms are clean and sufficient...though the size is really small...don't really have much space to walk around after opening up our luggages..location is good as it's just 3min walking distance to Duroc metro stop which connects to Invalides and many other lines..the entrance is thru a well lighted street..there is a really nice restaurant La Cadole just below the hotel...highly... For our first trip to Paris, we were most impressed with the care and kindness of the staff. Each took time to help enhance our stay by printing out directions in English to sights we wanted to see, arranging cabs, and directing us to good restaurants. We would go back!

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
